ae87b94515 The big change tracking patch. Changes from posted version : 
1) abstract time_t into lyx::time_type
2) abstrace struct passwd into support/userinfo
3) make authorlist a per-buffer property instead of global

I will look at the paragraph breaking soon, in the meantime I opened a bug on bugzilla.

6c12adeebe Finish the re-indroduction of the show_banner flag. It is 'true' by 
default now and not changable from the UI, but a \show_banner "false" in
the .lyx/preferences gets honored.

9c1a896972 There is now a \preview lyxrc variable defaulting to 'false'. 
Would be nice if someone would make this available in the preferences
dialog.

And this incorporates Herberts' patch to use pdfLaTeX which means
we are approaching TeXMacs ballpark of sluggishness...

607ad8d3a7 The graphics inset now has: 
* lazy loading (don't try and load the image until a request to draw it
  is received).
* asynchronous conversion to a loadable format.
* asynchronous loading if the image loader supports it (it doesn't).
* "simple" cropping, rotating and scaling (in that order) of the image
  on the LyX screen.
* display in color, grayscale or monochrome.

We also have a forked calls dialog, although it isn't very exciting
yet because only the graphics cache makes use of the forked call controller.

5e1253ee88 Revoke change made the other day to make menus appear as bold. 
Change variable names in lyxrc and in FormPreferences to reflect the
new meanings, e.g. popup_normal_font, popup_bold_font, popup_font_encoding.
Change preference dialog labels to suit.
