Make InsetGrid::colAlign a normal method and make it check whether
buffer is valid before using it. This avoids crashes as we have seen
in 2.3.3 (see e.g. #11686).
There is still an assertion so that failure is noticeable before release.
This is done to ensure that numbering never overlaps equations. The
result can be different according to the bufferview, which is why
RowInfo::offset is now a std:map.
Remaing issues (how bad are theese ?):
- the numbering is considered too large when it overlaps the inset
rect, whereas one could consider the width if the current row
instead.
- previews may need to be adapted similarly to fit the whole screen width
The original use case for this bug is entering an overset inset when
there is a selection. The expected result was to have the selection
pasted in main text, but the result was to have it in the cell.
Insets already have idxFirst() that is able to set cursor to the
"entry" cell of an inset. This patch introduces firstIdx(), which is
the index of this cell and uses it in idxFirst() (idem for
lastIdx/idxLast).
As a consequence, several instances of idxFirst/idxLast can be removed.
Now for the real fix: the two places where the cell in which selection
is inserted seem to be:
* Cursor::macroModeClose
* Cursor::handleNest
These two methods are changed to insert material in the entry cell
instead of cell 0.
idxFirst/Last methods are added to InsetMathRoot and InsetMathStackrel
so that the natural entry point is the nucleus of those insets.
Finallly, a typo is fixed in InsetMathNest::edit() where enter_front
computation was incorrect.
The goal of this patch is to be able to properly remove the space
needed for markers in the case of insets that are inside macros and do
not need these markers. This was attempted at 9a9a6a8, but did not
work reliably.
To this end, the following simplifications are made:
* instead of drawing its own markers, each inset has a virtual method
marker() which prescribes either NO_MARKER, MARKER (normal bottom
marker) or MARKER2 (top and bottom marker). All explicit calls to
(draw|metrics)Markers(|2) are removed.
* the space necessary for the markers is now counted in the
before/above margins in the row structure. Therefore painting will
not happen at (x + 1, y), but just (x,y).
* the methods drawDecoration are removed.
* the helper methods InsetMath::(draw|metrics)Markers(|2) are removed
and replaced by a new function drawMarkers in MathRow.cpp.
Now the marker type is kept in the MathRow::Element object (and set to
NO_MARKER in not editable context) and the marker is accounted for in
MathRow::(metrics|draw).
Moreover, the extra pixel for the marker is taken on the before/After
space if possible. The marker will only require extra space when
before/after is 0.
See comment 168 of #8883 to understand what issues are fixed.
* New virtual functions leftMargin() and rightMargin() to get rid of
drawWithMargin()
* Factor and rewrite code for borders.
* Fix several offset calculations.
Known issues:
* Borders of multicols look too good and do not correspond to the pdf
output. (non-regression)
* Bounding box for Hull (Regexp) not pixel-perfect.
* Bounding boxes of Diagram, XYmatrix, are too tight when there are
borders. Also border should be disabled. (non-regression)
inset-select-all has 3 levels
1. select current cell
2. select all cells
3. select inset from outside.
The second level makes sense for tables (text and math), but not for things like a math fraction.
Introduce a new method Inset::isTable() that allows to detect this case properly and skip level 2.
AMS align environment should have some spacing between odd and even columns.
Add a new virtual method displayColSpace() to InsetMathGrid, InsetMathHull and
InsetMathSplit.
A longstanding problem... (related: #1861)
The columns in AMS math environments have a fixed alignment (colAlign() in
InsetMathGrid.cpp). We set this alignment for display (Georg's
displayColAlign()) in InsetMathHull and InsetMathSplit. This is done according
to tests and documentation for the various environments.
There is also some mechanical code factoring via colAlign().
Finally, I disable setting the horizontal alignment in InsetMathSplit, which has
no impact on the LaTeX output, and has no longer any impact on the screen. (As
for vertical alignment I discovered that it was in fact customisable for
\aligned & friends! I hope that the more faithful interface will let other
users discover that too.)

I have no clue why this was automatically committed, I just applied the path, nothing more.
This reverts commit bb5470b5d1.

The math parser could not handle multicolumn grids. This is a problem because
there is no true ERT in math (everything is parsed).
Now multicolumn cells are parsed correctly. The display is also somewhat OK,
but apart from that any multicolumn related UI is missing. Since the file
format change is now done the UI can be added at any later point. The most
important part of bug 396 is now fixed: tex2lyx does not create invalid .lyx
files anymore for formulas containing \multicolumn.
I updated the tex2lyx test cases that produce correct output. tex2lyx does
still produce invalid output for the test cases which are not updated because
of the previous format change.
If \hline is entered, do not create an unknown inset, but increase the number
of hlines of the current row if that is allowed. The same idea is applied to
copy-paste (not part of the bug report).
This is also a test for committing via git.
This patch essentially reverts r30795 and also provides the correct fix
for #2969.

use MathML, so we are going to try to give options.

This fixes bug #1560.
The diverse setBuffer / updateLabels calls need auditing. See FIXMEs.

This reverts part of r10553. There, an extra '//' was added when the last line was empty. However, this really makes an extra line and that is visible when the lines have a line number. The bug #2067 that would have been fixed by this does not seem to 'exist' anymore.
