A basic class like Length should not depend on something from
frontend.
This change allows to remove several dummy implementations of
theFontMetrics().
The current spelling is not strictly wrong, but flagged as unusual or
historical by some authorities. It is also found fault with many
spell checkers. Thus we decided to move to the more standard "-ible"
form once and for all.

This part covers the most tricky part: the internal naming.
Translations and layouts will follow.
This will all also all be backported to 2.3.x, for the sake of backwards
compatibility (cherry-picking).
This commit does a bulk fix of incorrect annotations (comments) at the
end of namespaces.
The commit was generated by initially running clang-format, and then
from the diff of the result extracting the hunks corresponding to
fixes of namespace comments. The changes being applied and all the
results have been manually reviewed. The source code successfully
builds on macOS.
Further details on the steps below, in case they're of interest to
someone else in the future.
1. Checkout a fresh and up to date version of src/
git pull && git checkout -- src && git status src
2. Ensure there's a suitable .clang-format in place, i.e. with options
to fix the comment at the end of namespaces, including:
FixNamespaceComments: true
SpacesBeforeTrailingComments: 1
and that clang-format is >= 5.0.0, by doing e.g.:

3. Apply clang-format to the source:

4. Create and filter out hunks related to fixing the namespace

6. Manually review the simple patch and then apply it, after first
restoring the source.

8. Again apply clang-format and filter out hunks related to any
remaining fixes to the namespace, this time filter with more
context. There will be fewer hunks as all the simple cases have
already been handled:

9. Manually review/edit the resulting patch file to remove hunks for files
which need to be dealt with manually, noting the file names and
line numbers. Then restore files to as before applying clang-format
and apply the patch:

10. Manually fix the files noted in the previous step. Stage files,
review changes and commit.
When the box has a special width, one should not consider that as a fixed width. Otherwise, due to implementation quirks, the width will be set on screen as 1 inch.
A better solution would be to actually set the width by taking in account the contents width, height ans total height. This is not very difficult, but I do not know whether it would workout well in the work area.
Fixes bug #10048.
This is done by implementing contentAlignment() for this inset.
In order to display properly 'stretch' alignment, the code for TextMetrics::getAlign is rewritten to include some code that was in computeRowMetrics.
The horizontal alignment changes caused a regression for documents in older
formats. This could have been fixed by adding the following lines to the
format entry for 489 in development/FORMAT:
Previously, the horizontal position was ignored except for the
following parameter combinations:
- fixed width and type Boxed and without inner box
- fixed width and any type and with inner box and with makebox
Now, it is also used for the parameter combination below:
- makebox is not used and not (type Boxed and without inner box)
and a corresponding conversion to convert_BoxFeatures() in
lib/lyx2lyx/lyx_2_2.py. However, it was decided to revert the box alignment
changes instead: The box alignment can contradict the paragraph alignment. A
better way to avoid the additional space that can be created by paragraph
alignment (which was the motivation for implementing box alignment) is the
same as for table cells (see noTrivlistCentering() in src/Paragraph.cpp).
This would be a file format change and it is too late now for 2.2.0.

- the idea is to color the box inset frame according to the fame color of the box (if there is any). To keep the WYSIWYM principle the frame thickness and box separation are not taken into account. However this should be possible if anybody would like that.

* move recordUndoInset to Cursor
* remove one variant of Undo::recordUndo.
* get rid of Text::recUndo.
Rely only on InsetText::allowMultipar() to get this information.
Implement this method for InsetTabular and InsetBox.
Also rely on this method for disabling LFUN_PARAGRAPH_BREAK.
The computation of length on screen depend in particular of the computation of the size of an em. Many places of the code used to rely on the width of the M character, which is not really correct:

In digital typography, the best value to use is the point size of the font.
* Implement FontMetrics::em(), which returns the value in pixels of the EM unit.
Convert code to use it.
* Introduce Length::inPixel(MetricsBase const &), which takes the textwidth and em information from the MetricsBase object. Convert code to use it.
* Fix several places where Length::inPixel is used without a proper em value.
* add mathed_font_em() helper function. It should eventually be removed like some other functions in MathSupport.
* Add dummy implementation of FontMetrics to tex2lyx for linking purposes.
for possible thread conflicts, of the sort Georg resolved at
6a30211f. I have made static variables const where possible,
and marked cases that looked potentially problematic with the
comment:

Many of these definitely are vulnerable to concurrent access, such
as the static variables declared at the start of output_latex.cpp.
Suppose, e.g., we were outputting latex and also displaying the
source of a different document.
I'd appreciate it if others could grep for "FIXME THREAD" and see
if some of these are harmless, or what.
- InsetBox.cpp:
a framebox without inner box and without a width is \fbox
a framebox with inner box is also \fbox
a framebox without inner box and with width is \framebox
- GuiBox.cpp: the width checkbox must be checked if there is width
* InsetBox and GuiBox: Use proper empty length instead of the broken -9.99col% trick
* some slight changes to the logic of GuiBox to make sure that values are set as needed.
* lengthToWidget(): handle properly the empty length case. All the other related Qt helpers did it already, it was probably an oversight. Also set the default_unit parameter as optional (not needed in this patch actually, but I got carried away :)
* allow generating LaTeX code for an empty length, since some broken code does that.

- it was a pity that LyX did not yet support a simple rectangular frame without a defined width but LyX did this for e.g. oval frames
- \fbox and \mbox often occur in TeX files and can now be imported
so we can write a limited amount when using this for TOC and
tooltip output.
This should solve the problem with slowness that Kornel noticed,
which was caused by our trying to write an entire plaintext
bibliography every time we updated the TOC. We did that because
he had a bibliography inside a branch, and we use plaintext for
creating the tooltip that goes with the branch list.
Other related bugs were fixed along the way. E.g., it turns out
that, if someone had an InsetInclude inside a branch, then we would
have been writing a *plaintext file* for that inset every time we
updated the TOC. I wonder if some of the other reports of slowness
we have received might be due to this kind of issue?
is intended for us, i.e., if the first argument is "box". Maybe we
should also check to make sure that the rest of the arguments are
good, but we used just to return true no matter what the argument
was, so this is an improvement.
LFUN_INSET_MODIFY is really kind of a mess.
involves no change of functionality, due to the fall-back mechanism and
is needed for XHTML CSS output for the boxes.

preparatory to fixing #7080. Note that mathed uses the same routine, but
for a completely different purpose, so I did not rename it there. I have
seen no difference in behavior after testing, e.g., opening and
exporting Math.lyx, and also re-saving it and looking at the diff.

Currently, if an inset outputs a newline, the new latex row is still
associated with a previous id/pos. Now, if a latex error occurs before
this newline, we would still highlight everything associated to that
id/pos, even if it is extraneous to the error.
This is avoided by associating the new latex row with the id/pos in
effect right before entering the inset. If an inset does not output
a newline, it is not excluded from the selection, consistent with the
fact that the text of the inset does appear in the error description.

counting when exporting to latex. This is done for the code comprised
between \begin{document} and \end{document}, while the preamble code
still needs manual calls to TexRow::newline() for registering new lines.

blank lines may be inadvertently output. This is achieved by using two
special iomanip-like variables (breakln and safebreakln) in the lyx::
namespace. When they are inserted in the stream, a newline is output
only if not already at the beginning of a line. The difference between
breakln and safebreakln is that, if needed, the former outputs '\n'
and the latter "%\n".
In future, the new class will also be used for counting the number of
newlines issued. Even if the infractrure for doing that is already in
place, the counting is essentially still done the old way.
There are still places in the code where the functionality of the
class could be used, most probably. ATM, it is used for InsetTabular,
InsetListings, InsetFloat, and InsetText.
The Comment and GreyedOut insets required a special treatment and a
new InsetLayout parameter (Display) has been introduced. The default
for Display is "true", meaning that the corresponding latex
environment is of "display" type, i.e., it stands on its own, whereas
"false" means that the contents appear inline with the text. The
latter is the case for both Comment and GreyedOut insets.
Mostly, the only visible effects on latex exports should be the
disappearing of some redundant % chars and the appearing/disappearing
of null {} latex groups after a comment or lyxgreyedout environments
(they are related to the presence or absence of a space immediately
after those environments), as well as the fact that math environments
are now started on their own lines.
As a last thing, only the latex code between \begin{document} and
\end{document} goes through the new class, the preamble being directly
output through odocstream, as usual.

menus were (intentionally) missing, and it turns out they were needed.
Normally all invocations of INSET_MODIFY should trigger a recordUndo now.
Of course all cases have not been tested, but it should be working.

THis is a consequence of the new AtPoint mechanism. In the old
world, recordUndoInset was called before INSET_MODIFY. I reintroduced
manual recordUndoInset calls in all places that matter. I suspect
that this issue should be revisited later.
Note that recordUndoInset can now take an optional parameter that tells
what inset is concerned. This is useful because the cursor can be
either just inside the inset or in front of it.
