1ec0b390f5 Transfer some general code from GuiSpellchecker to Buffer and DocIterator. 
* Buffer::nextWord(): new method to search for next word.
* DocIterator.cpp: new function isLetter() moved from GuiSpellchecker.

5be56b517a Fix bug 5827 (validate date-insert argument):

	- new function is_valid_strftime that validates strftime arguments, 
	  OS dependant (win32 differs here)

aba488dea8 Fix display of release date with Qt 4.2. 
In Qt 4.2, QLocale::toString(QDate, ...) returns an invalid but not empty date
when QDate is invalid. So, check whether QDate is valid before conversion.

Please let me know if this doesn't work right with various langauges, makes things worse, or what have you. I posted a note to devel about this but didn't get any response, so I'm guessing it's OK. If not, we'll revert it.

Copy content vanishes on Quit.

The work-around to clear the clipboard was needed to work around bug 4846. This bug has been resolved by the fix for bug 5472, so the work-around isn't needed anymore.

Reference dialog update crash for read-only documents.

Comments:
* -1 is a valid return of bufferCO->currentIndex() so we need to test for it.
* set the correct enabling of the button in case no call to updateContents follows.
* remove unneeded call to setFocusProxy. The widget is either disabled or the focus proxy is set in updateRefs.

0c3109e2d3 * TocWidget.cpp: 
- improve performance with Outliner open with Qt >= 4.3 by using native methods instead of home-brewn code.
	  This should especially pay off on the Mac, if the Outliner shows as a drawer (bug 4443).

Add button in Citation dialog grayed out when key matches the start of an already selected key.

One parameter of match() was forgotten, so the MatchFlags were basically ignored, i.e. the standard flags were used always.

2e7698c4e6 Add a new Color class. This class makes it possible to specify a color as a merging of two other colors. The actual computation of the new color is done in ColorCache::get.

cf40884454 UI Command Buffer improvements. 
* the history is stored in the session file and restored in the next LyX session,
* the lists now disappear when the mouse is released in stead of pressed,
* correct enabling/disabling of the up/down button,
* hide the lists when clicked outside the list. Now using the function event() and check for a mouseButtonPressEvent instead of using mouseReleaseEvent(). The latter is only called when the mouse button is released inside the widget, but we want to use this event to detect a mouseclick outside the list.

cc3b9c61cf Fix crash when no new document can be created. 
This occurs frequently when the temporary directory cannot be created because it already exists. The temporary directory can exist as a result of previous crashes of LyX.

 by "borrowing" the widget structure from
 ViewSource.{h,cpp}
- reduces the default occupation of the dialog (in particular,
 it was "colliding" with the ViewSource itself);
- proposes to introduce a tabbed-panel in the F&R
 dialog, so as to have a "basic" and "advanced" tabs;
 (one option could be to make the dialog even smaller
  by moving all of the replace-related stuff into a separate
  "Replace" tab)

- recovers the eventFilter functionality back, so as to catch
 "Enter" or "Esc" key presses while in the Search Work Area

ac1fd9b37f fix bug 2558: hspace support in math 
The basic idea was to reuse the corresponding text space inset in the same
fashion as is already done for references. The dialog displays a different
selection for math than for text. If wanted, the additional spaces could
also be enabled for text, but that would be a file format change.
Constructs like \hspace{\mylengthvariable} that are not supported are
treated by the math parser as ERT as before.

For reasons I don't know the context menu does not work, but this is not so
important IMHO (since a left click opens the dialog).

On Mac clicking on a LyX file in Finder might open another GuiView which is
  asked to open the file. The reload logic though closes this and the dispatcher
  will run into a current_view_ which is null (until the other GuiView gets the

This is solved by the attached patch.

We should not restore the last used buffer if the active buffer has
changed. Especially not when you cannot choose the buffer which is now
still the case.

72721655c5 Remove some indirection leftover from Andre's removal of controllers and such. 
When we had GuiDocument and GuiDocumentDialog, there was a separation that required
this kind of thing, but now apply() is only ever called from applyView(), which is
private and only ever calls it with our local params.

This simplifies the forthcoming ProvidesModule, etc, patch a bit.

5ce39aa8b5 Add a "List of Changes" in the Navigator. The list is updated only when the document structure is reset or when the update button is clicked. Some work is needed to track more finely individual changes as we do for sections. 
Changes::addToToc(): New method to insert changes sorted by authors. The symbols 0x2702 and 0x270d are used to represent deletion and insertion.

TocBackend::item(): new method to lookup for a given item.

b8cf8cbab2 This patch prevents the shortcut dialog from silently over-writing existing bindings. (Indeed, both bindings will show up, prior to this patch, though only one will work.) A better solution would be to ask the user for permission to over-write, and then to take appropriate action. But this will do for now.

8e4d2d66ce Reset the geometry and ui settings whenever a change in the ui files is selected. This commit will destroy any current geometry session. The "view-id/" nodes are converted into "view/id/" nodes.

482468dda6 GuiImage: detaching the QImage does not have any good side effect apparently. It just results in some jumps of memory because the QImage data is referenced somewhere else (I don't know where as only the transformed image should be on screen).

- switch to QImage backend instead of QPixmap. In any case this was done internally by Qt for any image loading or transformation. This should relieve the X11 server a bit for big images.
- try to clear out the memory after a transformation by calling QImage::detach(). Unfortunately there seems to be a bug somewhere in Qt... see (http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5002).

* GraphicsImage: get rid of scaledDimension()

e2b8ea875d Fix bug reported by Helge. Vincent found the problem, really, which was a 
pair of uninitialized variables. The reason the crash doesn't happen when 
you open the User Guide is that they get set in TocModel::populate() before 
the slider's maximum value is fixed. It was setting that value to some huge
number that caused the problem.

I've added an assertion to make sure we don't run into this kind of problem
again. Probably not necessary, but it can't hurt.

9c2a1a828a Quick fix for a problem noted by Stefan. The better fix is to migrate this 
dialog, and all the others, to the new framework. GuiRef still inherits from

419642ad9e Fix citation bug: In certain circumstances, attempts to insert a new citation 
would instead change an old one. The problem was that we were hiding the dialog
with hide(), which does not trigger closeEvent(). So we have to implement
hideEvent().

dc9146d250 Patch from Vincent van Ravesteijn. 
I noticed that for instance the Hyperlink Dialog loses all information when clicking on the main buffer. The same occurs with the Include Child Document Dialog and probably also others.
Do you agree on this being less intuitive ? If so, I included a small patch that will fix this for the two dialogs mentioned. I just adapted them to the design of the GuiGraphics Dialog.

6094deee0f Revision control log is not visible after launching, moreover the title didn't 
get updated when using Log window for a different functions (eg. LaTeX vs RC log).

I hope this is correct position of updateContents() and it was not intention not
to call update of LaTeX log automatically after displaying.

97a9667f6e Clean up the unknown layout stuff some more. Please test to make sure this works with translated layout names, especially when one of them is "unknown". The use of "unknown" with RTL is also wrong, probably, as it will appear on the wrong side. But I'm not sure how to fix that. 
BTW, to create a file with an "unknown" layout for testing, just take any LyX file, open it with vi, and replace something like:
\begin_layout Section
with
\begin_layout BlubberStuff
That's probably unknown. ;-)

741bd1221a Fix for bug 5053. There are still some serious problems here, though, as (a) "unknown" cannot be translated and (b) the way the code was re-written, it will fail if unknown and translated layout names are used. This is because it completely subverts the use of a multicolumn model. I'll try to fix that, too.

9c87bee68d Introduce Debug::SELECTION mainly for copy/paste primary-selection debugging.

a54850d762 GuiApplication::resetGui(): reset as many things as possible, including menus and toolbars (not sure about Mac global menubar yet). This means that except for already opened dialog, all ui rc settings are taken into account without the need to restart.

a7de101b64 Revert 25234: Even though this is not recommended, using repaint give a much better user experience when dragging the scrollbar slider. So I am changing it back. I've solved the problem leading to rev25234 thanks to the new TocModel anyway.

6ad1b1cd09 General cleanup of the Outline/Navigator: 
- Make use the Qt Model/View separation concept, TocWidget is now really just a view of the current toc model.
- the toc type combo now use a model defined in TocModels.
- the models are not deleted at each reset, they are now just cleared out.

f8110b8b60 Fix another recursive repaint problem with Qt4.4 when erasing a section text with backspace while the Outline is opened. 
This should in principle not affect drawing but X11 testing with autorepeat key is required.

0d4ab86261 Fix item delegate for qt 4.2: 
In the completion-listbox rtl-Text does not work like it does for newer qt and icons are not displayed for math symbols.
The rtl handling is incorrect atm but now it works the same way for all versions of qt.

7bb8a5f183 Re-engineer the toolbar support code: 
- We now rely more upon Qt features,
- the initial toolbar positioning defined in "lib/ui/default.ui" is now only used if there is no session or if session handling is disabled,
- The session saving/restoring is window dependent.

44e18e9107 Disable a socket notifier when unregistering it. 
This avoids the following Qt warnings when performing a reverse dvi search:

QSocketNotifier: Multiple socket notifiers for same socket 9 and type Read
QSocketNotifier: Invalid socket 15 and type 'Read', disabling...

occurring when using the lyxserver or the lyxclient, respectively.

0d61832d22 simplify navigator. Get rid of the selectionModel() based navigation as this was too buggy. The tree now react to 'clicked' and activated signal. Changing a selection with the keyboard won't trigger a cursor jump, the user will have to hit 'Enter' for that. This is a ui change that probably needs to be documented (if it was already).
