The proper way to do word-wise selection is to compute the words
around both the cursor and the anchor.
Note that code is uglier than it should because CursorData::normalAnchor()
returns a CursorSlice instead of a DocIterator.
Fixes bug #12533.
Instead of just disabling MOUSE_MOTION on inset buttons, we now register
the coordinates where the latest mouse press happens, and if that's on
the inset button we are on when releasing, we toggle the inset.
Thus, minimal unintentional mouse movements don't lead to the button not
to respond.
This reverts commit 008a0825e8.
This commit was part of bug #12310. The goal was to remove the
selection when using "up" at the start of selection (so that the
cursor cannot move). Unfortunately, it creates navigation issues for
insets inside tabulars.
Since the fix was minor, the safest decision is to revert.
The part of ticket #12310 that resets selection with
char-forwars/backward when moving is not possible still works.
Fixes bug #12593.
When the cursor cannot move on cursor up/down, at least the selection
should be cleared (when not selecting).
To detect this, the method Cursor::upDownInText has been modified to
return true when cursor is at top/bottom of inset, but there is some
room above/below.
Moreover, introduce the functions LFUN_FINISHED_UP/DOWN, which is
dispatched at upper cursor level as long as no local movement is
possible. This allows to handle differently the original char moving
action and its consequences.
Fixes part of bug #12310.
Instead of setting language from context when moving the cursor, set
it to the OS input language. This behavior will probably need to be
controlled by a preference, since not everybody changes keyboard
mapping when changing language.
This required to move BufferView::setCursorLanguage to
Cursor::setLanguageFromInput().
This is a follow up to 503c7c16.
The new argument for placing cursor after insertion of inset is:
* if inset has no cell, do nothing
* otherwise, place inset in entry cell.
+ if entry cell is not empty (we pasted a selection), go to next cell
+ if this next cell does not exit, stay after the inset.
The original use case for this bug is entering an overset inset when
there is a selection. The expected result was to have the selection
pasted in main text, but the result was to have it in the cell.
Insets already have idxFirst() that is able to set cursor to the
"entry" cell of an inset. This patch introduces firstIdx(), which is
the index of this cell and uses it in idxFirst() (idem for
lastIdx/idxLast).
As a consequence, several instances of idxFirst/idxLast can be removed.
Now for the real fix: the two places where the cell in which selection
is inserted seem to be:
* Cursor::macroModeClose
* Cursor::handleNest
These two methods are changed to insert material in the entry cell
instead of cell 0.
idxFirst/Last methods are added to InsetMathRoot and InsetMathStackrel
so that the natural entry point is the nucleus of those insets.
Finallly, a typo is fixed in InsetMathNest::edit() where enter_front
computation was incorrect.
Add a `cancel' boolean to macroModeClose() that just removes all trace
of what has been entered instead of finalizing it.
When entering a macro in mathed, let LFUN_ESCAPE invoke
macroModeClose(true). The new semantics of LFUN_ESCAPE in mathed is
thus to abort the input of a macro name.
Fixes bug #9251.
This is a follow-up to 02028c0b12.
Fix two bugs introduced when moving Cursor::sanitize() to CursorData:
* the setBuffer that is supposed to set buffer from bufferview became
a no-op.
* new_word_ is now part of CursorData, but it is sanitized only in
Cursor::sanitize().
Additionally, make all protected CursorData data members private to enforce
encapsulation.
Basically, everything that does not depend on a BufferView should move
there. Some methods that do not seem to need a BufferView, like
selHandle or IdxFirst or push actually depend on it and could not be
moved.
This allows to simplify a few uses of recordUndo helpers.
- Move some methods to DocIterator: nextMath, prevMath, getPossibleLabel,
getEncoding;
- Move some methods to CursorData: setCursor, setCursorSelectionTo,
(setCursorTo|normal|reset)Anchor, (set|clear)Selection,
sel(|ection)(Begin|End), selectionAsString, info, currentState,
(mark|clear|check)NewWordPosition, fixIfBroken, sanitize, all undo
related methods, reset, isInside, leaveInset, current mode;
- kill some unused methods: macromode, replaceWord, setScreenPos, touch,
markInsert, markErase;
- Move code around to group things, and add a few comments (a lot remains to be done).
This changes lead to some related changes in other classes: removal,
change of parameter.
No intended change.
Traditionally LyX behaves differently when the directive DEVEL_VERSION
is defined at compile time. This covers
* more detailed description of current position in status bar
* the help files are open in read/write mode
* more detailed debug output in the View Source panel
This patch introduces the new function devel-mode-toggle that allows
to use devel mode in stable releases, and vice versa.
The information is saved in the session file. The default is to
disable devel mode.
Remove all traces of DEVEL_VERSION in autoconf and cmake
Now backspace and delete in text will select non-empty math and text insets
before deleting them. This is consistent with what happens in math already.
This is implemented for InsetText as well but can be disabled in case of
negative feedback.
This can be set for any sort of inset with the new virtual method
Inset::confirmDeletion.
New option "force" for the LFUN_*_DELETE_* commands, that bypasses the
confirmDeletion check.
Following discussion on the list:
https://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-users@lists.lyx.org/msg103012.html
This defines a new behaviour for Ctrl[+Shift]+Arrow in math:
* Left/Right does not enter insets
* Left/Right jump groups of insets that have the same math class ("words")
* Enable Up/Down for consistency.
The old name would be confusing wrt setSelection(), which does additional checks.
This one is a pure acessor, and the more complete methods are
* setSelection(), which avoids empty selections
* clearSelection(), which resets anchor, and sets word selection and mark more to false.
Most of the code should use these two instead of selection(bool), but this is for later.
Remove member disp_ that is defined both in Cursor and CursorData classes
Pass parameter of convert<T>(docstring const) templates as const reference for performance.
This removes the old implementation of Cursor::getSurroundingPos, that has been superceded in commit .
As this was the last user of the Bidi class, this can be removed too.
New method TextMetrics::findRowElement, excerpted from CursorX.
Reimplement getSurroundingPos using Row information. This is easy when
the cursor is inside a row element. At row element edges, different
situations can occur; hopefully all these situations are taken into
account.
Rename the old getSurroundingPos to getSurroundingPosOrig and
transform getSurroundingPos into a wrapper that compares the two
methods. This will be removed when we are confident that the new
function is equivalent to the old one.
It will then be possible to remove also the Bidi class (at last!).
The functions reverseDirectionNeeded() and reverseDirectionNeeded() do
not rely on the Bidi class. The first one is changed into a Cursor
method, and the second one is replaced with explicit code.
* Remove the UndoKind parameter in the general interface
* move recordUndoInset to Cursor
* remove one variant of Undo::recordUndo.
* get rid of Text::recUndo.
Additionally, move the code to write to a stream from Cursor to CursorData (so that debugging undo is easier). We loose x_target, but I am not sure it is important.
This is the second part of bug #9432.
Rename recordUndoFullDocument to recordUndoFullBuffer.
Separate the notion of recording changes to paragraphs and recording changes in buffer parameters.
Audit every user of recordUndoFullDocument and replace it with either recordUndoBufferParams or recordUndoFullBuffer. Add comments to identify remaining work.
False positive rate of hints is quite high. Although the includes can be
technically removed (due to other includes) they logically belong to the
header.
