72c42b0624 Fix bug #6431: Crash when closing a workarea with a pending completion popup. 
The GuiCompleter has to have a parent, otherwise it is not destroyed when a GuiWorkArea is destroyed.

570f96bc6e Add a boolean to GuiWorkArea::redraw to indicate whether the metrics must be updated. The current test "lyx_view_ != guiApp->currentView() || lyx_view_->currentWorkArea() != this" is not enough, especially not if the buffer is changed and buffer->changed() is called. Moreover, there are a lot of combinations of updateMetrics() followed by buffer->changed(), these can now be replaced by one call to buffer->changed(bool).

bbafbc884c Extend saveBufferIsNeeded with a parameter indicating whether the buffer is going into a hidden state. If so, and the user discards his changes, the buffer will be reloaded to discard the changes. 
Now, the option "Hide Tab" uses closeBuffer and asks for saving intead of instantly removing the workArea.

This is part of bug #5893: we try to make sure that there are no dirty hidden buffers.

86426344f4 Fix bug 5946: Infinite loop when opening file with two files opened with the same name 
This simply changes the appearance of the display path (in the tab header) in one detail: if the file suffix is not "lyx" (but "lyx15" etc.), the file is displayed with the extension. This fixes the problem (which is due to identical display paths), and it adds, IMHO, useful information to the GUI.

6e39c317fb Fix bug #5796: Context menu of one inset asks status of another inset. 
Store the position for the context menu on mouse press. This is also done in qt but then only on the widget level. 

This avoids that e.g. the edit menu will call getStatus() of math (which causes a crash actually).

b37146fbd9 Fix bug #6108: Crash on menu key 
The wrong context menu is being expanded, because the location where the context menu is requested is computed wrongly by Qt. 

Actually, the problem seemed to be in InputMethodQuery?. For some reason, the box of the cursor is shifted right under the cursor box.

The menu key uses InputMethodQuery? to locate the context menu, just as he Japanese input method locates the box with possibilities.

1.6.x shows the same behaviour, but in that case it doesn't crash because the spellchecker entry does not exist there, but there might be another case in which it will crash.

e207b0250f Make sure that the document is only scrolled to the cursor when the cursor is/was visible before resizing . 
Resizing can occur by toggling toolbars (bug 4733), or by creating or closing buffers which causes the tabbar to toggle (e.g. bug 4174, comment 5).

a7de101b64 Revert 25234: Even though this is not recommended, using repaint give a much better user experience when dragging the scrollbar slider. So I am changing it back. I've solved the problem leading to rev25234 thanks to the new TocModel anyway.

f8110b8b60 Fix another recursive repaint problem with Qt4.4 when erasing a section text with backspace while the Outline is opened. 
This should in principle not affect drawing but X11 testing with autorepeat key is required.

48999ee671 * Some more clever elide mode for the LyX buffer tabs. In trunk 
currently the whole path is (possibly with some unmotivated ... in
  the middle) used which is usually far too long.

  The algorithm implemented here will start with absolute paths. From
  left to right path segments are added to the display string if they
  help to make the display strings more unique. Otherwise nothing is
  added, or if some middle path segments are omitted otherwise, three
  dots ... are used.

  The result is that we get just the base filename without extension if
  they are unique in the tabbar.

  The patch is open for discussion. If there is demand we can create
  yet another preference option to get back the old behaviour.

bf27334cfa Some dialog consistency work: 
* Dialog::updateData(): try to reset the dialog even if there's no Buffer.
* GuiView::updateBufferDependent():
- renamed to updateDialogs()
- don't hide when there's no current work area, try to disable instead.
- now also take care of toolbars and other elements. 
* TocWidget: delay item selection to avoid unwanted node collapsing after setting a new model.

Expect crash and/or assertions for dialogs that are not ready for this non-hiding change. I will fix them iteratively.
There are still too many dialogs updates going on...

72b270ab4b Improve fullscreen mode (bug 4146). 
- added toolbars/tabbar/scrollbar toggling
- added text width control
- added GUI preferences & menu & shortcut

Known problems:
- Outliner in Mac is seeking some Mac devie to fix (see hints here:
  http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org/msg135382.html ) 
- Toolbars visibility is shared between windows (views)
  (needs toolbars overhaul).
- Adding new tab items does not reflect fullscreen mode
  (i.e. margins and tabbar get visible)

e55019967f Simplify scrolling code. Instead of using the actionTriggered() signal we now use valueChanged(). This has the advantage that we can possibly disable scrollbar tracking for low graphical performance systems.

1db3eb2113 GuiWorkArea::adjustViewWithScrollBar(): Fix slder to minimum and maximum. The problem was that when QAbstractSlider::actionTriggered() is emitted the scrollbar value is not changed, only its sliderPosition.
