0489d3c496 Introduce new file format flag "menu=export" to define which document formats the File > Export menu should list. All other formats are available via the "More Formats & Options ..." (former "Custom ...") dialog. 
The actual selection of formats needs to be audited.

7569903af6 For some reason, when a latex error occurs, it may happen that 
err.pos_start > err.pos_end such that range == 0 and nothing
gets highlighted, even if the paragraph id is correct.
In this case, it is better to highlight everything.

5a2121f77e Check for fontspec an configure the GUI accordingly. 
If fontspec is not found, the "Use non-TeX fonts" checkbox is disabled, and the tooltip hints at installing the package.
Also add fontspec to LaTeXConfig.lyx, documenting that v2 of the package is needed for LuaTeX support.

fcae022192 Search and replace buffers are now passed from the GUI to the Model 
just by their file-name, and directly accessed there.
All string/latex exporting of those buffers is handled on the Model
side (lyxfind.cpp) according to the selected options.
Fixed bugs when searching with ignore-format disabled material
in the middle of a paragraph, and when using regular expressions.

13739f37d5 revert r37459 and add a note to the sources:

32ab2ff2b7 Fix bug #7224. This allows two different floats to declare the same 
ListCommand without our writing it to the menu twice. There's a minor
annoyance, which is that we always take the list name from the first
declaration of the Float, but it's not clear whether this is a real
issue.

1ef605f625 Introduce a wrapper class for odocstream to help ensuring that no 
blank lines may be inadvertently output. This is achieved by using two
special iomanip-like variables (breakln and safebreakln) in the lyx::
namespace. When they are inserted in the stream, a newline is output
only if not already at the beginning of a line. The difference between
breakln and safebreakln is that, if needed, the former outputs '\n'
and the latter "%\n".
In future, the new class will also be used for counting the number of
newlines issued. Even if the infractrure for doing that is already in
place, the counting is essentially still done the old way.
There are still places in the code where the functionality of the
class could be used, most probably. ATM, it is used for InsetTabular,
InsetListings, InsetFloat, and InsetText.
The Comment and GreyedOut insets required a special treatment and a
new InsetLayout parameter (Display) has been introduced. The default
for Display is "true", meaning that the corresponding latex
environment is of "display" type, i.e., it stands on its own, whereas
"false" means that the contents appear inline with the text. The
latter is the case for both Comment and GreyedOut insets.
Mostly, the only visible effects on latex exports should be the
disappearing of some redundant % chars and the appearing/disappearing
of null {} latex groups after a comment or lyxgreyedout environments
(they are related to the presence or absence of a space immediately
after those environments), as well as the fact that math environments
are now started on their own lines.
As a last thing, only the latex code between \begin{document} and
\end{document} goes through the new class, the preamble being directly
output through odocstream, as usual.

0faafa47bf Fix bug #5082: Outline visibility not remembered. 
When a document with a InsetTOC was closed, the outline was closed. But this shouldn't happen because editedInset("toc") does never return something.

The reason that this happened was that if currentBufferView() is 0, we don't even care wehther inset was specified. If inset is specified, it should match the editedInset.

02fb4a784e Fix bug #7099: Fix bug #7099: Math toolbars don't autoshow. 
When applying the preference we need to save the full session information, because when this information is not yet saved, we will lose it forever. We can enter the preferences without a saved state when we start LyX with a modified default.ui.

94ede89c57 Fix bug #7099: Math toolbars don't autoshow. 
In GuiApplication::readUIFile() the settings for views gets removed if the ui file is newer than the saved timestamp in the settings. Later the non existing settings will be used to initialize the visibility. The default value for a non existing setting is 0. The visibility_ variable does never get changed afterwards. And therefore
we will again write 0 to the registry.

We should have read the ui file instead when we can't find the registry value.

e38c604887 Remove GuiToolbar::allowauto_ and define this property in the Toolbars.h::Visibility enum. 
Now, there is the bug that autoallow is incorrectly set to true when visibility_ has the Visibility::SAMEROW flag. One shouldn't use >= on an enum (GuiToolbar::setVisibility), as newly added items will exhibit unexpected behaviour.

1f5c77ec65 Fix bug #7187: Font painting problems with emulated scaling. 
When creating the QFontMetrics object, we should specify a QPaintDevice. 0 is a paint device which is screen-compatible or pixmap-compatible. This makes sure that the correct DPI is used in font metrics calculations.

3370b1d2fa Fix the last part of #3733: 
- In GuiApplication::dispatch, do not call markDirty() for lfuns that are not ReadOnly
- In Undo::Private::recordUndo, call markDirty(). The indicator of dirtyness is now the existence of an undo element.
- In lyxfind, remove several markDirty calls that are not needed anymore.

c24f8ae84e Fix bug #6603. 
The problem was that the child buffers were closed,
and therefore the TOC contained dangling pointers.
The fix is simple: Reopen all child docs and create a new TOC.

8435660410 This string composition badly fails on some languages since as a translator 
you have no clue about the context for the proper grammatical case.

I'm not particularly happy about the fix, but didn't see much better alternatives.

ef79a1fe8a * UI changes in anticipation of polyglossia support: 
- rename \language_package to \language_custom_package
     - the bool \language_use_babel is replaced by a more fine-grained selection:
        * chose language package automatically (later: babel or polyglossia)
        * always use babel (also with XeTeX)
        * custom (i.e. use \language_custom_package)
        * none (equivalent to former \language_use_babel false)

22ffc93467 The "single instance" patch. 
By default, if the lyxpipe is set up and working, loading of documents
is deferred to an already running instance. Note that an already running
instance is only used for loading, such that export from command line
still works as usual.

The default behavior can be changed through a preference setting, and,
whatever the default is, it can be overridden by command line options.
Unticking the "Single instance" check box in the preferences, LyX behaves
exactly as before the introduction of this feature.

efa0da26c8 Fix the following sort of crash, reported on the list. This is also 
#6884.

1. Open LyX. File>New. Document>Outline, to make sure the TOC is open.
That isn't necessary, but it helps you to see what is happening.
2. Create a section heading (alt-P, 2) with an x in it.
3. Split the screen.
4. File>New. You should now still see the TOC for the OLD buffer.
5. Click in the top screen. You now see an empty TOC (the one for the
empty buffer).
6. Click in the empty buffer. Other TOC!
7. Back to the "x" buffer. Empty TOC. Type something. Boom!

The problem is that teh setCurrentWorkArea() call eventually gets us to
structureChanged(), which accesses documentBufferView(). But that
doesn't get reset until later, and hence everything is out of sync.

79811671e9 Revert r35933. There are insets not based upon InsetCommand, such as 
VSpace, that use InsetParamsWidget, so we cannot have code that requires
InsetCommandParams there.

Stephen Witt reported a similar crash with the info dialog.

0c9da47505 BufferList should not determine that the current author has id = 0. This should really be in AuthorList. Besides BufferList shouldn't have to create an Author by itself.

e9e577f6a4 All occurrences of buf->errors("Parse") in GuiApplication an GuiView are positioned after a call to GuiView::loadDocument which already should handle any errors. 
GuiView::loadDocument also already calls setBuffer(), so this is not needed everytime too.

e82cd410c1 Pass the Buffer to GuiView::reloadBuffer. We always know which buffer we want to reload, so don't ask the documentBufferView again. 
Besides, now we can always call GuiView::reloadBuffer instead of calling Buffer::reload directly. This means we don't have to do the error handling each time over and over again.

ef7ecea2b3 Move the call to Buffer::errors("Parse") from BufferView::insertLyXFile to GuiView::insertLyXFile. 
Buffer::errors("Parse") is called 7 times in the whole project. 4 times from GuiView and three times from functions in other classes, but which are (almost) only called from the GuiView. 

Buffer::errors is used to signal the GUI that there might be an error occuring, but what sense does it make if it is only called from the Gui ?

Isn't it better to let the function return wether it succeeded or not and let the GuiView take action in doing something with the possible errors.

e313d3a12b Move saveCheckSum() call to Buffer::readFile(). Also, remove the 
argument from that function. We are always saving the checksum for the
Buffer's file. The argument is a left-over from a time when we did the
wrong thing and saved it for e.g. the emergency file.

d8d239cae0 InsetParamsWidget should not just ignore the initialization data. I 
don't know if there are similar issues with other dialogs based on it,
but this seems to fix it for GuiLabel.
