Polyglossia:
Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, Kurdish (Sorani),
Latin (Classic), Latin (Ecclesiastic), Latin (Medieval), N'ko, Odia,
Punjabi, and Uyghur

Babel:
Amharic, Armenian, Asturian, Bengali, Church Slavonic, Coptic, Divehi,
Kannada, Kazakh, Khmer, Kurdish (Sorani), Lao, Latin (Classic),
Latin (Ecclesiastic), Latin (Medieval), Malayalam, Marathi, N'ko,
Occitan, Odia, Punjabi, Russian (Petrine orthography), Sanskrit, Syriac,
Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan, Urdu, and Uyghur

b322ecb483 Load Ancient Greek and Mexican Spanish via \babelprovide 
In classic babel, these varieties are only available via modifiers
or attributes, which means that they could only be used instead rather
than in addition to the default variety

047dee5a3b Basic support for \babelprovide 
This is the new(er) babel mechanism to load languages via babel *.ini
files.

Some languages (or varieties) are only supported this way, some work
better with unicode engines this way (for the latter case, we have
BabelProvide 2)

Note that this cannot be properly reverted to LyX 2.4, so any options
will simply vanish on reversion or roundtrip

d937afba8a Fix babel quoting for Spanish 
The problem, described by Udi, was the following:

  See section 1.10 of babel's manual, on page 12 under
  "TROUBLESHOOTING". There cannot be
  a closing curly brace after a shorthand, and in babel-spanish
  ">" is a shorthand.

Thanks to Udi and Jürgen for the patch.

This is a more general fix than the (now reverted) fix at fa67f709.

858b076ab7 Work around French babel's incompatibility with prettyref 
In classic (pdf)latex, where the colon is activated, detokenize
the argument of \prettyref.

8eff3b1772 Fix lithuanian default font encoding and Xindy name. 
FontEncoding L7x required for hyphenation but no longer set
by Babel (since 2017-12-06).

The PostBabelPreamble now sets L7x for Lithuanian, if it is defined
and restores the previous font encodng on exit.

f995fba310 Fix cprotect with Slovak 
babel-slovak makes ^ active, though cprotect relies on it being
catcode 9 ("ignored"). Thus we locally change the catcode with Slovak.

e1f2dc6a41 Remove old compatibility code from 2002 
At the time, there were two competing packages for French language:
frenchle (aka french.sty), the historical one, and frenchb.ldf, the
new kid on the block. I was difficult to know which one was loaded by
babel, and frenchle did not define \og and \fg. Thus the need for our
own definition.

These were the good old days, but this time is gone for good.

bf88ad495c Make Word Wrap property confiurable by language 
It is now possible to specify in the lib/language file whether screen
rows can be broken anywhere (CJK languages) or only at work boundary.

Set WordWrap to false for the CJK languages (notice that japanese-cjk
had been forgotten before).

Moreover, remove a test for separators in row element that was not
really helpful.

Fixes part of ticket #10299.

7a87599a3e Load inputenc after babel with Thai. 
"thai.ldf" breaks "inputenc" by changing catcodes.
Loading "inputenc" after "babel" allows a workaround.

c349472d35 "AsBabelOptions" no longer required. Part2. 
AsBabelOptions was introduced 2010 in [cc5dd37a2a05/lyxgit].

Since the re-orgianization and opening of the Babel package to
"contributed" language definitions in March 2013, it is no longer required.

Clean up after Part 1 [1361f1a45f23/lyxgit].
