Especially after the change to use semantic linefeeds (7b23c76b),
the diffs are large and it's hard to figure out what diff is the
result of the linefeed change and which diff is the result of an
edit.
By updating the docs, it will make the edits easier to understand
from the diff.
This commit used the LyX binary to write the new .lyx files since
lyx2lyx does not apply semantic linefeeds.
I used the following command:
./development/tools/updatedocs.py [path to 'lyx' binary]
A few documents were not updated (e.g., the command sequence used
failed because a dialog about a missing dependency was shown).
I did not update Additional.lyx for any language since it is
undergoing changes. I also didn't change anything in doc/fr since JP
is working on some of those. I also didn't change doc/ru since it
appears Yuriy already updated those.
Fix for bug #12547.
- "Interword" becomes "Normal"
- "Protected" becomes "Non-Breaking"
Plus a minor fixes to the "Horizontal Space Settings" dialog:
- Indicate that when "Non-Breaking" is disabled, the space will be non-breaking
Most changes accepted, some remain visible in CT, because they were real bugs
(etc. shortcuts, or mathed commands) which might be broken in other language
variants.
We will accept them for 2.4 in the final review.
Xe/LuaTeX convert \AA to the deprecated character u212B (which is missing
in the default LatinModern font) instead of the recommended u00C5.
Also fix some of the "missing character" errors in Math.lyx if compiled with
Xe/LuaTeX which were caused by the replacement of \AA with literal u212B characters
in math-insets due to the old definitions in unicodesymbols.
Update the minimal example for failures of Math.lyx with system fonts.
On TeX Live 2016, Math.lyx gives an error when compiling with
pdflatex. On TeX Live 2015, Math.lyx compiles but the log gives the
following warning:
Usage of deprecated font command `\it'!
This commit amends 67e45aa3.
Since \output_changes is written again at the original position, we need to
fix those files that have been updated using the intermediate version.
The update was done by running development/tools/updatedocs.py <lyxexe> where
<lyxexe> was the path to an up to date LyX binary. All files that did contain
additional changes were reverted:
lib/doc/LFUNs.lyx
lib/doc/UserGuide.lyx
lib/doc/Shortcuts.lyx
lib/examples/de/beamer.lyx
The \SpecialChar changes are fine, these files have never been saved by LyX
after the update to 483.
