output, due to failure to clean the ids in the new citation stuff.
I've solved this by allowing the citation format information to contain
keys of the form "clean:key". This signals that we are to apply the
html::cleanAttr() function to the key before returning it. I.e., we
strip non-alphanumeric stuff, basically.
- fileformat change
- it was a pity that LyX did not yet support a simple rectangular frame without a defined width but LyX did this for e.g. oval frames
- \fbox and \mbox often occur in TeX files and can now be imported
Previously, the format used for included pdf files was the same as for
document export via ps2pdf. This caused unwanted conversion routes, e.g.
export via odt->pdf instead of dvi->ps->pdf.
I renamed the format for included graphics and not for exported documents,
since otherwise the command line syntax for export would change. This would
require more adaptions for the users, since with the chosen solution the
custom converters are almost always changed correctly in prefs2prefs(),
so that only custom external templates need manual adjustement.
work we do when calling plaintext() for the purpose of generating
material for the advanced search function.
Here again, not only were we parsing BibTeX files, since Julien's
(sensible) introduction of plaintext output for that inset, but we
were in fact writing (to disk) complete plaintext output for
included files every time we did such a search.
worth doing, as we were creating too much output for tooltips anyway.
But we need to ignore BibTeX insets altogether, as the collection of
the references, etc, is too slow.
so we can write a limited amount when using this for TOC and
tooltip output.
This should solve the problem with slowness that Kornel noticed,
which was caused by our trying to write an entire plaintext
bibliography every time we updated the TOC. We did that because
he had a bibliography inside a branch, and we use plaintext for
creating the tooltip that goes with the branch list.
Other related bugs were fixed along the way. E.g., it turns out
that, if someone had an InsetInclude inside a branch, then we would
have been writing a *plaintext file* for that inset every time we
updated the TOC. I wonder if some of the other reports of slowness
we have received might be due to this kind of issue?
This default argument is inserted iff no inset argument is present. This is useful particularly for mandatory arguments that need to have a sensible default value.
This only move the code, but does not change the displayed labels.
Thus for numerical citation, the label is set to the cite number;
for author-year citation, the abbreviated list of authors is used
i.e. "Smith et al. 2001".
Eventually, we might want to make the label customizable, or get
it from BibTeX.
I do not see where this is really useful (contrary to real plaintext). And it breaks spell checking with hunspell and 8bit disctionaries (part of bug #8526)
This patch implements 'move row' and 'move column' features for tabular.
The purpose is to provide a useful behavior in tabular that is
consistent with PARAGRAPH_MOVE_UP and PARAGRAPH_MOVE_DOWN so that the
user can, for example, do alt-<up> to move a row up. Alternatively,
icons for these features are also added to the table toolbar and
context menu.
If there is any selection, the feature is disabled. This is consistent
with how PARAGRAPH_MOVE_UP works in other contexts. Additionally, 'move
row' is disabled if there is a multi-row in the current or target row;
and 'move column' is disabled if there is a multi-column in the current
or target column.
'move row' moves only the left and right borders of a cell along with
the row. Similarly, 'move column' moves only the the top and bottom
borders.
Implementing similar functionality for other insets, such as arrays and
array environments, is on my TODO list.
Reordering citations is one case where catching "Citation undefined
on page ..." doesn't catch the need for a bibtex rerun. This patch
ensures the proper ordering is obtained in pdf output without having
to resort to closing and reopening the LyX document.
What was previously accomplished by wrapCitation is now customizable in the
layout files. What we provide by default here corresponds roughly to the
LyX 2.0 behavior.
Only the first paragraph in those sequences goes into the TOC, since the environment is merged.
This is needed to handle the forthcoming beamer environments properly in the outliner.
This patch puts all projects into subfolders (at least for MSVS). In this
way, there is a better overview (especially if the number of test projects
will be increasing).
Fix#4981:
If the first or last column is deleted, the borders are preserved.
Similarly for the last row, but not for the first row. Selections are
supported.
Based on a patch by Zahari Dimitrov.
Fix the following bug:
When in tabular, enter "ab" in a cell. Place the cursor before "b". Hold
shift and press <right>, then (still holding shift) <right> again. On
the second <right> nothing appears to happen.
Related to #1802.
Fix#4981:
In tabular if a vertical selection is made with the keyboard (e.g.
LFUN_UP_SELECT), the selection is drawn if there are two cells selected.
Previously, the selection would be drawn only if there were more than
two selected.
If you have a selection across cells in tabular, moving the cursor
vertically up or down (e.g. LFUN_UP) now removes the drawn selection.
Before, the selection was set to false but it was not repainted.
This assures that refs to existing labels are not being touched if a new label with a duplicate name is created, and the name then changed by the duplicate checker.
Branch candidate.
Fixes 2 issues:
1. LyX uses for a decimal alignment a multicolumn and having for a cell a multicolumn _and_ a multirow is invalid LaTeX.
2. It was impossible to unset a decimal alignment via the context menu or toolbar button.
This is the same protection used for \cite{}. Although "ulem" commands
don't strictly need this protection with \ref{} and friends, this helps
when one wants to use another package souch as "soul".
Indeed, ulem's \uline{} doesn't hyphenate words, while soul's \ul{} does,
and thus the output is much nicer.
With this patch, replacing ulem with soul is as simple as adding
\usepackage{soul}
\renewcommand{\uline}[1]{\ul{#1}}
to the preamble, without worrying about manually enclosing in \mbox the
\ref commands. In any case, the output from ulem remains unchanged.
Another possibility offered by soul is that of typesetting as
"yellow highlighted" the underlined text. This is achieved by adding
\usepackage{color,soul}
\renewcommand{\uline}[1]{\hl{#1}}
to the preamble.
This commit does a bit more than fix selection, since it saves the full cursor state
in the undo stack. This means that undo now restores:
* the selection
* the current font
* transient mark (shall we keep this one?), logical position...
In order to do that, it introduces an intermediate class between Cursor and DotIterator: CursorData.
The new inheritance diagram is thus
DocIteraator -> CursorData -> Cursor
CursorData contains all the members of Cursor that define the current position, but not the stuff
related to current view of dispatch mechanism. It may make sense in the future to move members
between CursorData and Cursor and to move some member functions to CursorData.
Now UndoElement uses CursorData for cur_before and cur_after, but not for the cell. The undo API uses
also CursorData instead of DocIterator.
If someone can tell me how I can tell QtCreator to actually use tabs, not spaces, I would be most grateful (yes, I have set Tab Policy to Tabs Only in Prefs)
The button text of InsetInclude insets shows whether the child document is
included or excluded from compilation. Changing this for a child document
in the document settings does not get reflected on screen. This patch
updates the button text on the updateBuffer() call.
We want the key as id, not the label (which is optional).
We also need a kind of namespace for the citation ids.
We should also clean the id tag before using it.
is intended for us, i.e., if the first argument is "box". Maybe we
should also check to make sure that the rest of the arguments are
good, but we used just to return true no matter what the argument
was, so this is an improvement.
LFUN_INSET_MODIFY is really kind of a mess.
The listings inset and include inset of type listings use two english terms
that are not localized yet: "Listing" for the caption and "Listings" for the
list of listings (not supported natively by LyX yet). The existing layout
translation mechanism has been extended to translate these terms as well:
1) Support [[stuff]] context in lib/layouttranslations
2) Support BabelPreamble and LangPreamble in InsetLayout
3) Use a InsetLayout for InsetInclude of type listings
4) Define BabelPreamble and LangPreamble in the layouts for InsetInclude
and InsetListings
Math commands need it as well as text commands. At the same time, this
further unifies the checking for termination and fixes cases of wrong
output (e.g. for 0x2005).
The crash was due to the otherwise innocent looking 07924ac300. The cast
Vincent replaced was already wrong---it seems to have been a thinko in
7bbd67eb2679---but it worked kind of by accident before. Now it crashes.
Multirows were introduced in 8bb69f24 (Uwe Stoehr, 11 Feb 2010). In the
computation of the nearest cell, it was forgotten to account for the
vertical offset. tabular.cellHeight is the full height of the cell, while
the point that comes from the coordCache is offsetted by VOffset.
Therefore, we have to subtract the VOffset from o.y_.

Add a new layout syntax CiteEngine to define the citation commands
available for a given citation engine.
Also extend the CiteFormat syntax to allow more customization. This
mechanism, previously used to produce bibliography entries in the
citation GUI based on the BibTeX entrytype, is now also used to
produce the textual labels for citation insets in the buffer view.
Thus citation styles are almost completely customizable by modules.
Modules for the basic, jurabib and natbib engines are implemented.
Layout format incremented to 37.

"from-dialog" is added to the LFUN_INSET_MODIFY function when it is issued from the table settings dialog. As the bug report notes, you do NOT get this crash if you move up or
down in the table a bit before you do the rest. The reason is that
moving up and down sets the cursor's x_target_, and it is because that
is not set that we enter the other code at all and eventually crash.
That is, in InsetTabular's dispatch, we have:
(*) cur.pos() = tm.x2pos(cur.pit(), pm.rows().size()-1, cur.targetX());
You can see the potential for trouble here already. cur.pit() is in the
NEW cell, i.e., the one to which we are moving; it was changed a few
lines previously, and cur.idx() points to the new cell, too. But we are
trying to calculate cur.pos(), which means that cur.pos() is currently
the one from the OLD cell. So the cursor is in an inconsistent state.
Calling cur.targetX() leads us to call Cursor::getPos(), and that is
what causes the crash.
We fix the problem by making sure we call targetX() on the original
cursor. The same problem clearly exists in the DOWN stuff, so we fix
that, too.
By the way, should we be setting x_target_ here once we have calculated
it?

Currently, if an inset outputs a newline, the new latex row is still
associated with a previous id/pos. Now, if a latex error occurs before
this newline, we would still highlight everything associated to that
id/pos, even if it is extraneous to the error.
This is avoided by associating the new latex row with the id/pos in
effect right before entering the inset. If an inset does not output
a newline, it is not excluded from the selection, consistent with the
fact that the text of the inset does appear in the error description.

However, if all cells of a table row are output on the same line, lyx is
not able to tell what cell caused the error and highlights the last cell

blank lines may be inadvertently output. This is achieved by using two
special iomanip-like variables (breakln and safebreakln) in the lyx::
namespace. When they are inserted in the stream, a newline is output
only if not already at the beginning of a line. The difference between
breakln and safebreakln is that, if needed, the former outputs '\n'
and the latter "%\n".
In future, the new class will also be used for counting the number of
newlines issued. Even if the infractrure for doing that is already in
place, the counting is essentially still done the old way.
There are still places in the code where the functionality of the
class could be used, most probably. ATM, it is used for InsetTabular,
InsetListings, InsetFloat, and InsetText.
The Comment and GreyedOut insets required a special treatment and a
new InsetLayout parameter (Display) has been introduced. The default
for Display is "true", meaning that the corresponding latex
environment is of "display" type, i.e., it stands on its own, whereas
"false" means that the contents appear inline with the text. The
latter is the case for both Comment and GreyedOut insets.
Mostly, the only visible effects on latex exports should be the
disappearing of some redundant % chars and the appearing/disappearing
of null {} latex groups after a comment or lyxgreyedout environments
(they are related to the presence or absence of a space immediately
after those environments), as well as the fact that math environments
are now started on their own lines.
As a last thing, only the latex code between \begin{document} and
\end{document} goes through the new class, the preamble being directly
output through odocstream, as usual.

If anyone thinks we should instead have:

The problem is/was that when copying an InsetTableCell?, the macrocontext_position_ and the buffer_ were not copied. That's why in InsetTabular?@splitCell@521 and in InsetTabular::TeXRow() and in InsetTabular::metrics we manually copy this into the new object.
However, splitCell() returns the object by-value. So, when we call
InsetTableCell tail = splitCell(head, column_info[c].decimal_point, hassep);
the new object is copied into tail and we lose the buffer_ and macro_contextposition. Later we will crash.
What does *nix in this case ? Apparently they don't make buffer and/or macro_contextposition 0.

to be treated as part of the document. For example, the footnote numbers
in LyX are wrong prior to this patch.
This will also affect word and character count, but should not affect
anything else. If that seems wrong, we can either (a) explicitly exclude
notes from the word count or else (b) introduce
bool countWordsInInset() const;
and call that, instead.

that also makes sure it doesn't do more work than it needs to do, by
limiting the size to 40 characters. Previously, InsetBranch::addToToc()
would have added a string representing the entire contents of the
branch! It's hard to imagine that having to recalculate that sort of
thing doesn't cause some problems with speed, especially in documents
with lots of notes and branches and such.

Using updateMacros() entails a performance hit when loading a document
with really a lot of macros. So, revert to the original strategy of
tracking macros at creation time. In order to also account for macros
defined in a child document, the child is now loaded by the include inset
at construction time instead of after the master has finished loading.
This strategy mimics what updateMacros() was accomplishing without
incurring in its drawbacks, such that loading time is practically
unchanged even with a thousand macros.

THis is a consequence of the new AtPoint mechanism. In the old
world, recordUndoInset was called before INSET_MODIFY. I reintroduced
manual recordUndoInset calls in all places that matter. I suspect
that this issue should be revisited later.
Note that recordUndoInset can now take an optional parameter that tells
what inset is concerned. This is useful because the cursor can be
either just inside the inset or in front of it.

A dynamic_cast is necessary when:
- the object to be casted is from an external library because we can't add Qxxx::asXxxx() to Qt e.g.:
* QAbstractListModel to GuiIdListModel,
* QValidator to PathValidator,
* QWidget to TabWorkArea,
* QWidget to GuiWorkArea;
- the object is to be casted from an interface to the implementing class, because the Interface does not know by whom it is implemented:
* ProgressInterface to GuiProgress,
* Application to GuiApplication.
A dynamic_cast can be replaced by:
- already existing as***Inset() functions, e.g.:
* asHullInset(),
* asInsetMath()->asMacro(),
* asInsetText();
- a static_cast when we are sure this can't go wrong, e.g.:
* we are sure that CellData::inset->clone() is an InsetTableCell,
* in cases where we explicitly check it->lyxCode().

DispatchResult to store a flag that tells us whether we need a buffer
update or not.
So: If you find a missing one, go to an appropriate place in the
dispatch and call cur.forceBufferUpdate() or, if you don't have a cursor
but do have a DispatchResult, call dr.forceBufferUpdate().
There is one remaining call I could not move, in
TextMetrics::redoParagraph. But this looks like an emergency call when
the macro context has not been set. There are also a couple calls that
are connected with buffer creation that I commented out, since the same
call is done again almost immediately. But I'm not positive about those.
Now the nice thing would be to do the same for updateMacros().

(multirow cells are by default left-aligned, LyX does not yet support to change this)

little things:
- rename method to what it is
- correct parameter
- bit of formatting

The asymmetry between how "Branch" is read and written still needs to be
addressed, as does the fact that InsetBranchParams ought to be created
with a param string.

This patch introduces a "ListCommand" tag for Float layout. This tag
defines the command used to generate a list of such floats, in the cases
where float.sty is not used (i.e., where NeedsFloatPkg is true). We were
previously hardcoding the commands \listoftables and \listoffigures. But
in other cases, such as achemso.layout, which defines lists of schemes,
charts, etc, we could not output such lists.

of them. This is preparatory for introducing a layout tag that lets us
customize that command for builtin floats.

list revealed that the former is confusing to people. The latter
indicates more clearly what the tag does.

- multirows cannot be vertically aligned, therefore disallow this
(Two issues less in http://wiki.lyx.org/Devel/Multirow .)

- proper message passing for all tabular features
- properly define which feature needs an argument
* replace LFUN_TABULAR_FEATURE with LFUN_INSET_MODIFY
- The math tables are also affected. In the future a common base class
between math and text table will solve this inconsistency.
- There is a hack in GuiApplication in order to not rename the toolbar
icons. This will have to be cleaned up with a general icon naming for
LFUN_INSET_MODIFY... to be discussed.
* Tabular Dialog:
- big cleanup, lots and lots of bug fixing here
- migrated to InsetParamsWidget
git-svn-id: svn://svn.lyx.org/lyx/lyx-devel/trunk@33495 a592a061-630c-0410-9148-cb99ea01b6c8
* update the button label when a parameter is changed.
* Get rid of unused LFUN_INSET_DIALOG_UPDATE dispatch.

- add authors

- fileformat change (lyx2lyx code follows the next days)
- the patch is a joint work of Edwin and me
The patch is huge but the major parts work already. I put it in now as the minor known issues can be solved step by step the next days. I think this is the best solution because collaborating with such large patches already lead to copy/paste bugs.
The known issues are listed here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/Devel/Multirow
git-svn-id: svn://svn.lyx.org/lyx/lyx-devel/trunk@33414 a592a061-630c-0410-9148-cb99ea01b6c8
- now accept a full parameter string at construction
- LFUN_INSET_MODIFY now also interprets float type.
* FloatPlacement:
- The float type label is replace with a combo that can be used to
change the type.

You cannot use params.type for that, because that's not flagged for
translation. Have a look at InsetCollapsable::floatName().

a lot of simplification is possible. Except some instability period...

* Bug fix and clean up InsetFloat parameter handling: this is still not very clean as the float type is not really a parameter still... The solution is to defer the float type reading to the actual inset reading, not its creation.

This fixes bug #1560.
The diverse setBuffer / updateLabels calls need auditing. See FIXMEs.

The idea here is to implement something like \refstepcounter for LyX. We
do this by tracking the "active" counter in Counters.cpp. We also have
to track when we go in and out of environments to which counters are
local, and so on and so forth.
This all gets done in updateLabels(), but only if we are producing
output, which is why I added the output boolean a while ago.
I expect there are bugs in here, though it seems to work pretty well
with the documents I've tested.

The only thing left to do here is to parse the index entries so that we
can do something with "this ! that" and similar things.

is more to be done here still, though.
