1d2cf2771a Fix comment. 
By the way, this is extremely inefficient. We have e.g. this code in
Buffer.cpp:
	string target = func.getArg(0);
	string target_name = func.getArg(1);
	string command = func.getArg(2);
As a result, we parse the argument string three times! It seems to me
that we should either (a) expose a "getArgs" routine that returns a
vector<string> and let the caller extract them by position:
	vector<string> args = func.getArgs();
	string target = args[0];
	etc;
or (b) cache the vector<string> in the FuncRequest object itself. The
latter wouldn't in fact require much memory, because these objects are
generally short-lived. 

Opinions?

744ee152fa Cleanup a bit the pargraph ids generation in order to (trying to) fix 
#6415
Enrico please verify that reverse dvi is fixed.

* Text and InsetText: create two private constructors and transfer some
initialisation code from InsetText.

* Paragraph: id generation is transfered to Text. May be transfered to
Buffer in the future, we'll see.

5cc2d6d73c Advanced F&R rework: 
- scopes now handled in FindAndReplaceWidget, while lyxfind.cpp only searches within single buffer
- cursor().result().dispatched() now encodes whether a match was found or not, after LFUN_WORD_FINDADV dispatch
- removed a few unneeded functions
- followed a few cosmetic advices

c8dd86534d Update the GuiInfo dialog also when the document is read-only. A dialog that does not dispatch a single LFUN (see getLfun()) but is buffer dependent (see isBufferDependent()) should implement the canApply function (if I'm correct).

28e9474f7a Some BufferParams for XHTML output. 
These are not actually implemented yet, but I wanted to make sure to get
them into the format now, so even if I can't implement them before the
1.7 release, I can do so during the release cycle, without a format
change. I don't expect that to happen, but you never know....

28dab69a0e Compare feature take two. 
With this patch, we can recursively walk through the document. The document is split around a middle snake and each part is processed further. The snakes are added to the output document as well as the added and deleted parts.

Now, the only thing left is to commit the implementation of the find_middle_snake function.

04580d2122 Improve the command-line parser meant to be used for QProcess. 
Now, both single- and double-quotes posix-like quoting styles are implemented,
such that a command-line meant for the shell can also be used for QProcess.
However, only redirecting the output to a file is supported. Supporting piping
would require a (major?) rewrite of the Systemcall class.

45b0c6be47 Fix the threaded preview and reenable it. 
Buffer::Impl::inset was set in the ctor Buffer::Impl::Impl to be a clone. However, in the Buffer::Buffer ctor the inset was set again, now to a new and empty InsetText.

bea0925f8c Converter: add a safe guard to Alerts because those cannot be called from another thread. The whole Alert system must be rethought I am afraid.

4ed0169064 Detach Buffer preview and update preview in a new thread. Only for Qt4.4 users. This new feature can be disabled by setting EXPORT_in_THREAD to 0 in GuiView.cpp. 
Two things are missing (but are fixable):
- the lack of feedback of the background latex compilation
- the error list is not shown in case of compilation error.

* Buffer:
- create a "cloned buffer" type.
- Transfer LFUN_MASTER_BUFFER_UPDATE, LFUN_MASTER_BUFFER_VIEW, LFUN_BUFFER_UPDATE and LFUN_BUFFER_VIEW to GuiView. This is good itself as these LFUN are GUI oriented.

* GuiView: detach the above LFUNs to a new thread as was already done for autosave.

e1ed39f8b4 So this changes the way we handle sums and such. We just don't need to 
handle them specially for MathML, and we don't need to split scripts
either.

e2d6ecff99 Compute the font_scaling_factor every time a preview is created (we can afford a few multiplications I guess). Now, the newly generated previews use the possibly updated zoom, dpi and preview_scale_factor.

6b96abd211 Correctly paint the background of the instant preview of a displayed equation. 
For a displayed equation, the height is artificially increased by a displayMargin() in InsetMathHull::metrics if it is a displayed equation and there is a preview. 

This extra height is not covered by the preview image and what one can see is the background as drawn by the MathHull inset. The color of this background should be either Color_mathbg or Color_background depending on whether the preview is shown or not.

e3b26029cc Fix bug #6365: tex2lyx uses wrong encoding in the preamble. 
Everything is ok while reading the file, but when the lyxfile is written, only the first byte of a double-byte character is written to the file. This is because t.character() is sort of defined as cs_[0] in which cs_ is a docstring. This thus seems to fail for multi-byte characters.

Compare with src\tex2lyx\text.cpp line: 1250.

123a589bf8 * Fix bug #2144: Merge the two identical classes g-brief-de and g-brief-en into one class g-brief. 
The German layouts are replaced by the English ones.
German localization is now done as it is supposed to be: via gettext.

A file format change was needed to do this.

b56e4c5697 Do not start loading a preview each time one is added. This caused LyX to generate LaTeX code of the document over and over again for each math inset. As a consequence, the loading of the User's Guide took ages. 
Fixes a bug introduced in r32157 while fixing bug #4360.

996505c2ae This patch introduces an optional argument to Buffer::updateLabels(), so 
as to allow us to call the routine when we are preparing for output and
so to do certain things we might not want to do every time. 

This is an abuse of updateLabels(), in a way, but updateLabels() long
ago became the general recurse-through-the-Buffer routine, and to
implement the sort of thing I want to do here in validate(), say, much
of the code in updateLabels()---in particular, the counter-update
code---would have to be duplicated. So I believe this is the best, and
easiest, way to go.

Actual use of the new argument will follow.

451e926b84 Restore XHTML output for InsetGraphics. 
To make this really good, we'd want to be able to rotate, crop, etc, the
images, as well as convert them to suitable output formats. This should
not be too difficult, since we do this sort of thing for display,
anyway. But I don't myself know how to do it. Anyone?

e4a483da32 Enable "silent rules" with automake 1.11. This leads to much nicer compilation 
output. The build should still work with older automake versions.

c5738e5af6 Restore XHTML output for InsetLabel and InsetRef. There are a couple 
other fixes in here, too.

There is an issue here which I guess I'll deal with later, namely, that
the name attribute for <a> is unavailable in XHTML 1.1, which is what we
need for MathML support, at least in Firefox. Firefox will deal with it
if it's there, but the document won't validate. I'll figure out what to
do about this later.

f1dd63ec24 Fixes for the FileFormat pane of GuiPrefs.cpp: 
- We have to block the signals coming from viewerCO and editorCO, otherwise the signal handlers will clear the customly set viewer or editor.

- A copy-paste error made the custom viewer to be changed when changing the editor combobox.

5b7a7cca73 Fix bug #6113: Customized font color in footnote is not rendered in LyX. 
It seems we realized the font in the wrong order. If the layout font specifies "Font Size Small", we should be able to make it large if we want to.

08feb0e14c Fix bug #6161: Wrong cursor position in bidi text. 
If the first character is a separator, we are in RTL text. This character will not be painted on screen and thus we should not count it and skip to the next.

This bug pretty much destroyed cursor placement in RTL text on a row with large gaps.

ed7172226c This inner tag thing turns out to be a bad idea, since so few things are 
allowed to go inside <span>. Probably we don't need it anyway.

The User's Guide now exports as valid XHTML 1.1, according to the XHTML 
validator at w3.org. Of course, in the present state of the code, a lot
of insets aren't being exported at all, since they've been disabled. So
there is work to do. But this is a serious start now.

c5651b5e44 Two things here:

ad132e2e99 Restore basic paragraph output for XHTML. The insets are all disabled still. 
Much of the point of this is to allow us properly to handle what LyX does as:
  <em>This is <strong>bold and italic</em> and now just bold.</strong>
We output:
  <em>This is <strong>bold and italic</strong></em><strong> and now just bold.</strong>
which is valid.

Note how much easier this would have been if emphasis and boldness were insets
rather than ranges. ;-)

7aebcc787f I am now going to proceed to break XHMTL output, and then reconstruct it 
a piece at a time, using the new XHTMLStream.

This just gets the basic structures working, and fixes a bunch of iconv
errors in the process. 

I hate iconv errors.

8745fd6caa This is the custom stream for XHTML output. It isn't used yet, and 
lots of things that will be replaced have been left, so as not to
prevent compilation.

The point of this is that we need a good way to manage the nesting of tags,
that is, to make sure tags are properly nested. So everything here is pretty
trivial, except for XHTMLStream << EndTag.

7365a29fea Fix bug #6208: macro crash. 
The fix consists in not updating the macro while it is being edited,
and this is accomplished by the changes in MathData::updateMacros().
However, when clicking away with the mouse I was getting another crash,
which is cured by the changes in MathMacro::notifyCursorLeaves().

3f3bedd0d9 Fix another instance of missing buffer in math. This is needed when 
pasting a macro inside another math inset (such as \text or \hat). In
this case the buffer would not be set and getMacro() cannot be called,
such that an "internal" macro would still shadow an user defined one.
This kind of fix is now easy after Abdel's overhaul.

9ba340b218 Fix parsing of functions and arguments for MathML. 
The enum is overkill for now, but will be useful if anyone decides
really to return to this stuff. It's apparent that there are some 
powerful tools here---like the ability to pipe expressions through
Mathematica.

85503ec1b9 Get XHTML output for InsetRef working, again in a fairly primitive way. We just 
use the label name as associated text, and put it into square brackets. It'd be
nice to be able to do more, but for that we'd need to associate counters with
the labels, which would be nice for display, too. But we don't have that yet.

cd35cebed1 Get XHTML output for InsetGraphics working, at least in a primitive way. 
At present, we do not do any sort of rotating, scaling, cropping, etc.
That should not be terribly hard to do, since we can just call ImageMagick
and get it to do it for us, but appropriate routines will have to be 
written.

I'd be thrilled if someone else wanted to do that. ;-)

7bf3d5cad0 Rename getLocalStatus to Cursor::getStatus 
Move the AtPoint handling into the Cursor dispatch machinery

Note that the call to Cursor::getStatus is in BufferView::getStatus, while
the call to Cursor::dispatch is still in LyXFunc::dispatch. This needs to be
fixed, but the code there is a bit fragile.
