Without GUI an image is not available even if it is actually cached.
In this case we load the image for obtaining its dimensions in order
to correct the clipping bounding box.
This amends 380f34a1.
This can lead to mistakes. If no buffer is required at the beginning,
it is better to pass 'nullptr' explicitly.
Fix a case of missing parameter in GuiCompleter (introduced at
f3656600). This avoids some spurious "There is no group open (creating
one)" messages.
This is mostly important for subfigures, but debugging this issue showed that InsetCaption could be slightly simplified and InsetLabel should be made a tad more robust.
This ensures that all comparisons for DocBook are made on the same normalised version of the float type. This cased a strange bug where <table> was output within <informaltable> for Linguistics Tableaux.
Includes: semantic markup (sorry about noun: Additional.lyx uses it to mark menus; there is something better in DocBook, but it looks like the LaTeX equivalent is really for person names), boxes, info layouts.
Before, it directly wrote to the XMLStream, but it made implementation of new lines tricky. Now, it returns the XML for each sub-paragraph (delimited by new lines) as a string, so that the caller can adopt a more precise behaviour (such as in lists).
Currently tested:
- url & doi fields for bibtex.
- all documented eprinttypes of biblatex
- absolute paths of first entry of 'file' field for jabref and kbibtex
- external script searching for author + year pdf
Additional polishing will follow.

Use font switches for insets that allow paragraph breaks rather
than insets that do not inherit outer font settings. No change of
behavior is intended with respect to the current status, but this
will allow a simple and effective fix for #10263.
As this required to first generate the paragraph before outputting it if necessary, tests like XMLStream::isTagOpen no more worked properly. This also refactors table handling to get rid of that case (and make code easier to read).
This patch aims at:
1. replacing absolute paths by their hashes (do not leak directory structures)
2. not using counters anymore so that changing figures order in the document
does not lead to large number of obsolete images in export directory.
Other changes than in xHTML export of images are unintended.
The 20px space on top and bottom of document have traditionally been
obtained by adding the to the ascent/descent of the first/last row.
This reads to annoyances like selections that are drawn in these
margins and issues with the nesting marker.
The change is to add the values to a separate member of the Row
object, and to add new Row::total(Ascent|Descent) methods that add the
effect of this padding.
Moreover, some methods are added to TextMetrics to simplify the
BufferView code.
Fixes bug #9545.
Add new RowFlags value CanBreakAfter, which says that the row can be
broken after the inset if needed. There is no CanBreakBefore yet,
because I do not know of an inset that needs it.
This makes screen closer to the actual behavior of insets.
Currently, only unprotected spaces and some special characters are
concerned. There may be more that need this handling.
Fixes bug #11621.
The enum DisplayType is replaced with the flags RowFlags that can be
combined. Here is the correspondence between the old DisplayType and
the new Inset::RowFlags:
DisplayType RowFLags Meaning
Inline Inline plain inline inset
-- BreakBefore row ends before this inset
-- BreakAfter the row ends after this inset
AlignCenter Display the inset is centered on its own row
AlignLeft Display | AlignLeft the inset is left-aligned on its row
AlignRight Display | AlignRight the inset is right-aligned on its row
-- RowAfter an extra row is needed after this inset
Display is just a shortcut for BreakBefore | BreakAfter.
The flags for the newline inset will be BreakAfter | RowAfter,
while the separator inset will just use BreakAfter.
This groundwork does not introduce any new feature at this point. It
aims to remve the numerous isNewLine and isSeparator all over the
code, and to eventually optional break after some insets like spaces
(see #11621).
Most display() methods are renamed to rowFlags(). Some are removed
because they returned Inline.
Now display() is only a helper function for hull insets.
Return early when format is unknown. I am not sure whether this is
supposed to happen and whether we should assert on this condition.
Spotted by coverity.
It turns out that the resources were mostly not used anyway. Removing
them shrinks LyX binary by ~6MB.
Only autotools have been adapted. cmake will require the same
simplification.
74540c98 was a fixup of d207e85c, which avoided using inset background
as inset label background.
d207e85c introduced a background under inset labels to avoid fake bold
effect.
Hopefully, this last variation will be the right one !
This inset allows counters to be set, reset, saved, restored, etc,
both in the LyX GUI and in the output; optionally, the effect can be
limited to the GUI. Of course, LaTeX provides means for doing all of
these things, so they could previously be done with ERT, as far as
the output is concerned. But there was no mechanism for manipulating
counters in the GUI and none for other output formats.
Keep track of nested includes and just refuse to re-enter a file
we're already in the process of handling.
There's a question whether we should do this in updateBuffer and
validate, or whether we should do it separately. For now, this seems
to work.
GuiInclude::initialiseParams() calls InsetCommand::string2params()
which calls InsetCommandParams::clear(), however this last function
did not reset the special "preview_" parameter. Now this parameter
is reset to false as part of clear().
The ParamData class documents (see InsetCommandParams.h) the
following:
// No parameter may be named "preview", because that is a required
// flag for all commands.
Thus, we must handle preview_ separately from the other parameters.
This commit fixes#11779.
The above mentionned patch did paint the background of the sublabel to
avoid "bold-like" effect. However the correct backgound color is the
row's one, not the inset's one.
Now RenderGraphics adds offsets that depends on its parent inset.
These offsets are set to 0 for InsetGraphics and InsetExternal. A nice
consequence is that icons shown by Info inset stick out less on screen.
As an unrelated change, the "private:" specifier of these two insets
is moved to a more reasonable place.
The basic value is Inset::textOffset(BufferView*), which can in theory
change with the BufferView zoom and dpi. It is hardcoded to 4 for now.
Moreover, we introduce the virtual inset methods
(top|bottom|left|right)Offset, which can be tweaked for each inset.
No change intended (for now).
This is a reimplementation of 6d4e6aad that is both simpler and more
complete.
This uses the updateBuffer mechanism to implement a fully working
version of Inset::isChanged(). Now the function returns true for an
inset that contains an inset that contains a change, for example.
Moverover Buffer::areChangesPresent() is merely a proxy for
Buffer::inset().isChanged().
Add Paragraph::isChanged() and InetText::isCgchanged() which indicate
the presence of a change in the relevant object.
Sets Row::needsChangebar() when adding an inset that contains changes.
Related to bug #8645.
Fixes part of #8469
For a proper fix that works with change-reject as well as with hide
changes in output, we need to implement
ct information in tabular's row and column.
If the file of an InsetInclude does not exist, loadIfNeeded will try
again and again to look for it. This is very bad for files with many
include insets, especially on windows.
Fixes bug #11656.
When used as an adjective, both variants "descendent" and
"descendant" are acceptable, but when used as a noun only
"descendant" should be used.
For a reference, see here:
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/descendent#Noun
This is better than making sure that the inset has exactly one cell.
In the future, inset-dissolve could be extended to dissolve all the
cells contents in the enclosing text.
Note that this check does not appear in mathed, and using dissolve in
e.g. fraction inset may lead to data loss (only current cell contents
is preserved).
More complicated than I wished for, but color handling in RTL is
particularly tricky.
The three versions are needed due to the differences between [pdf]latex,
xetex, luatex/luabidi and luatex/babel.
Graphics "height" is only the height above the baseline and thus not
what most people will expect. Also, using height can result in a
division by zero with rotation.
Use totalheight now since this means "height of the figure" (independent
of the baseline).
The custom options field can be used if height is really desired.
We handle this in conversion/reversion, respectively, so document
output will not change.
Hence, file format change.
Fixes: #9676
In particular, the directory frontends/qt4 is renamed to frontends/qt.
Many configurations file have to be updated. All mentions of qt4 in
the source have been audited, and changed to qt if necessary.
The only part that has not been updated is the CMake build system.
This effectively allow paragraph breaks in insets only for cosmetic
reasons (e.g., to align contents on different lines).
This is the last change necessary for an enhanced covington gloss support
(which uses the new covington gloss ui)
A branch inset modifies the layout of the internal structures in
which the text is organized. When a branch is active, it is as if it
was not there, but its only presence makes a paragraph which would not
be the last one to actually be the last one, or the check for the
language of the previous paragraph to fail because there is no
previous paragraph before the first one in a branch inset.
Oney way I found to tackle it, is tracking whether the typesetted
paragraphs are actually part of an active branch inset and acting
accordingly.
Instead of writing a metrics() method that mimics what draw() does,
re-use the draw code with a null painter.
This has the additional benefit of fixing InsetSpecialChar logo width
with EB Garamond. I have to admit that I do not know why it was too
large with the old code, but the new code is shorter/better anyway.
This code removes logowidth(). metrics() is moved to a different
place, but only the logo cases are touched.
It might be nice to do this also for other insets that allow editing.
To do that properly, we'd want to standardize how such insets call an
external (or internal) program, which I guess would mean a virtual
method corresponding to editIncluded. When it exists (i.e., isn't null),
then we could call it, and we'd only need one centralized method to do
that. But at the moment, we have editGraphics, etc.
The basic problem here is that rather than using an abstract syntax,
backend-specific param strings are produced in the listings dialog,
depending on whether listings or minted is used.
Of course this breaks if a user switches backends inbetween (s/he would
have to open and re-apply each and every listings inset!)
Do at least the most basic translations in InsetListings::latex().
A sane solution would imply the use of only one param syntax with
respective interpretation for each backend. But this would be a file
format change.
Fixes wrong and missing characters in text parts in other languages
(platex does not support "inputenc").
Fixes compilation errors due to desynchronized encoding switches.
Several changes are needed to get things right:
* nested supersripts only work with inheritFonts=true.
* to get caret position right, it is necessary to remember the outside
font of the inset before computing metrics.
* to get the size right at insertion time, it is necessary to trigger
a metrics computation just after inset insertion.
To reproduce: Do a search for text in a footnote (say) that is
currently closed. Click inside the now open footnote. It will close
by itself.
We need to know whether we can go into the inset, not whether we can
edit once we're there.
This accesses the inulemcmd output param which protects specific commands
(\cite, \ref) in an \mbox.
This is needed in ulem and soul commands, since their complex
detokenization makes such commands (who produce multiple words via local
assignment) fail.
So now it is possible to properly support ulem and soul via
[inset]layout
Fixes a case reported in #9404
Fixes: #11508
Now there is the opposite case which needs to be addressed:
If no translation is available for a shortcut in a non-latin-scripted
document, we need to switch the language to English.
Commit [3366c49f/lyxgit] intended to strip braces only for minted
but was actually stripping them also for listings. As the braces
are necessary for the listings package, reintroduce them.
This is a master-only issue.
When several lines of text are in the same variable-width tabular
cell, it is not possible to align properly the rows until the cell
width is known.
Therefore a parameter is added to redoParagraph to skip this
computation, so that it can be done later in TextMetrics::metrics.
Other calls to redoParagraph in the code are not affected. It is not
clear at this point whether they may create artefacts.
computeRowMetrics has been renamed to setRowAlignment to better
reflect its use.
Fixes bug #11447.
