We don't invert unreliable tests for the same reason they are
inverted but, e.g., a nonstandard test that fails for some reason even with the
additional requirements installed or a test that shows wrong output
but also an error.
The missing character problem is fixed upstream.
Also fix the scaling of the \sun-symbol-index by wrapping the symbol in \text.
(wasysym's \sun is valid in text and math mode. LyX currently adds a spurious \ensuremath.)
* custom non-tex fonts with all required characters
* use 2.2 fileformat (easier backporting)
* test all export formats
Also, fix pattern for "mixing_inTitle_layouts" in unreliableTests.
Specify non-TeX fonts that work in the source for documents that
fail with "missing characters" if compiling with "non-TeX fonts"=true.
(This does not interfere with the default output in any way.)
THe pdf output showed a very visible line overfull. I slightly changed the text to
avoid this without adding an hyphenation point, not appropriate in documents for beginners.
Use LyX note instead of comment. This is less invasive that
converting Beamer frames to fragile to accommodate the comment
environment.
(cherry picked from commit e81f6b04bc)
The compilation did not succeed before because of an é in an ERT
inset. This is changed to \'{e}.
Also correct spelling of "decouvert" to "découvert".
Alternatives would be to use a LyX note or a comment inset. Since
the original version uses ERT, I do not change that.
This commit fixes the following ctest:
export/examples/fr/beamer-article_pdf4_texF
It likely also fixes the corresponding test for fr/beamer.lyx, but
since the default output format is set to pdf2 we do not run the
test.

This change fixes the export of our FeynmanDiagrams.lyx example
files on the latest TeX Live 2016.
The IJMP(C|D).lyx examples compiled before the change but might as
well convert these instances of '\rm' also.
The changes were made with the help of the following command:
find ./ -iregex .*lyx -exec sed -i 's/\\rm /\\textrm /g' {} \;
and the resulting diff was confirmed manually.
This commit is consistent with 3cecd4d3.
By moving date and author above the standard layouts, author is now
output in the PDF and the terminal error from LyX about mixing an
InTitle layout with non-InTitle layouts is gone.
The difference has been validated with diffpdf.
The following could not be tested and were left unchanged:
docbook_article.lyx
lilypond.lyx
linguistics.lyx
springer/sv*.lyx
de/linguistics.lyx
es/linguistics.lyx
ja/FeynmanDiagrams.lyx
ja/lilypond.lyx
ja/beamer.lyx
ja/xypic.lyx
The following is the script that I used (in lib/examples):
LYX=../../build/src/lyx
$LYX -E pdf2 $1.old.pdf $1
sed -i "s/^\\\\begin_inset Separator parbreak$/\\\\begin_inset Separator plain/" $1
sed -i "/^\\\\begin_inset Separator latexpar$/ { N; d; }" $1
$LYX -e lyx $1
$LYX -E pdf2 $1.pdf $1
diffpdf $1.old.pdf $1.pdf
See my post on the list - enumitem is already described in the userGuide.
(Besides this a makefile entry was missing for the file.)
Please don't add documentation files without a discussion or a review, especially not in a beta phase.
* missing characters in linguistics example with system fonts
* language nesting problem in fr/linguistics example
* 110f505b63 solved one failure (Basque example file)
Pdflatex is the recommended export tool for the manuals.
Pdflatex brings the best results for hyperlinking.
Some features (e.g. rotated text) are not available in DVI or PS (dvips).
This does not affect export from command line or autotests
(where this setting is ignored and the format must aways be given explicitely).
Always-Babel now set in the example document.
Adapted the autotest categorization:
* fails for some developers (why?)
* wrong output with pdflatex/LuaTeX and DVI (missing landscape slides).
Also MacOSX ReadMe files. Note that a few lib/doc files are
also "updated" because trailing spaces are removed, but their file
formats are the same because they were recently updated at 83672113.
I did "git checkout LFUNs.lyx" because this file is generated
automatically and has a special header.
Many of our documents have babel-specific preamble code. By putting
this code in a \@ifpackageloaded{babel}{}{} conditional, XeTeX and
LuaTeX compilation with polyglossia now works. This fixes some
LuaTeX tests that were broken by edd37de8 and also allows us to
uninvert some XeTeX tests.
Note that in some of the files although the preambles were fixed to
allow for polyglossia, they still do not compile without errors:
es/Math.lyx
es/Customization.lyx
de/Customization.lyx
Similar fixes might be desired in other manuals but these at least
fix regressions in the tests.
- also disable PDF-reply since this never works correctly and it could even destroy the whole PDF and exceeds the TeX capacity
- update the french version accordingly
In June the R-SS phrase system is replaced officially by the GHS H-P statement system in the EU.
So just in time here is support for this.
No new LaTeX package is required since the already supported package mhchem provides the statements.
according to the powerdot manual it uses the standard floats and indeed, the float deinitions were identic to the ones in stdfloats.inc
- powerdot-example.lyx: add a slide with floats (floats are only possible with the H placement option. (assuring this will be possible with the fix for bug#7752)
- enrich the examples
- add info about naming
- formatting fixes to improve the layout of the PDF
- make the document compilable also if the package insdljs is not installed
- the example was designed to follow the style of the other LyX documentation files, e.g. not to insert options as one big TeX-code inset.
- fix some typos
- (I cannot save files with LyX 2.2 atm due to bug #9234)
- this brings back all our template files (they are no example files, would have been a regression otherwise because LyX 2.0 offers them already in "new from template")
- the thesis files will stay in the examples folder for now until we have a real fiix for bug #8643
The pgf package 3.0.0 update lead to an error being given with
this document. Loading the 'etex' package fixes the problem.
For more information, see:

The JASATeX class is currently unmaintained. Also, this
commit moves the system font tests from inverted to ignored
(otherwise lualatex and xelatex run in infinite loops).
Export with XeTeX and LuaTeX (with either non-tex fonts or 8-bit
compatibility mode) does not work because the loading of inputenc with
utf8x is hardcoded in europecv.cls at this time.
This commit adds a note to es/europeCV.lyx explaining the problem and
inverts the XeTeX and LuaTeX tests.

Thanks to Günter Milde for the advice and to Ignacio García
for the translation of the note.
This is a manual lyx2lyx fix. Some of the problematic chunks
are not correctly converted with lyx2lyx so this commit manually
converts them to ERT.

dvipdfmx emits a lot of warnings and Koji suggests ps2pdf.
Thanks to Koji for the advice.
Note that on Debian, I installed the following packages
to be able to compile with ps2pdf:
fonts-takao-mincho
fonts-ipafont-nonfree-jisx0208
fonts-ipaexfont-mincho
This fixes several long "unusual contents found" warnings that
were being written from LyX's math parser and improves the
typesetting.
Thank you to Enrico for the fix. See here for his explanation:
http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org/msg180763.html
There are still two such warnings that might indeed be serious,
one each in fr/xypic.lyx and ja/xypic.lyx. I get an assertion
from cursor movement in those insets with instant preview enabled
(on both current trunk and branch).
Manuals, examples and templates that use (traditional) bibtex should have set the bibliography processor to bibtex. Else, these documents do not compile if a user has set the processor to 'biber' in the preferences
When a user creates a new document from a template, the template
is copied but relative paths are not changed, so the resulting
.lyx file is broken. By moving documents with relative paths to
examples, the files will compile out of the box.
A long-term solution that allows for relative paths in templates
is still desired and will be discussed in #8643 or in a new ticket.
- mention that the aa class loads natbib to avoid compilation errors
- the aa package contains an outdated an customized version of natbib.sty. This file only works with aa, but breaks the compilation of many other files on your system, therefore remove the bibliography and replace it by BibTeX
- add a note about the encoding
If the 'nols' option were set, the files could be output with plain
LaTeX as well; but because letterspacing is an important part of the
Tufte design, letterspacing is preserved and pdf2 is set as the
default output format. This is now explained in a note.
The issue here was that an AMS symbol is used as 4-th level bullet, but 'use AMS Symbols automatically' was not selected.
This is a candidate for branch.
- use a default font except a special one is available
- add our documentation preamble disclaimer
- fixes all occurrences (there were many of them) of the LyX console warnings
"unusual contents found: [formula equation [grid [row [cell [xymatrix [grid [row..."
when the document is opened
- style and formatting fixes for consistency
- this new modernCV version fixes the annoying linebreak bug I was suffering so long, it moreover adds 2 new features
- lyx2lyx/lyx_2_1.py: updated to revert the new features
- Add a note about HTML.
- Add a note about using external files.
- Add a note about using lilypond variables and commands.
- Some corrections and nitpicks.
- also fix in the generic conversion routine the cases
- that there are one or more optional arguments before the mandatory ones
- that the conversion does not start with the first argument of a command
Now that we have module support for literate programming, it is possible to do a noweb cleanup. This is basically a patch from Kayvan Sylvan:
- get rid of literate-xxx classes
- rename Scrap to Chunk, since this is the name noweb doc uses (Scrap is from nuweb)
- update lyx file format and add lyx2lyx support for gettting rid of literate-xxx classes
- update documentation
On the top of it, update tex2lyx to
- avoid creating files with literate-xxx class
- fix conflict between parsing << as a quote and parsing it as a Chunk
- create Chunk layouts instead of Scrap ones.
- now all personal info can be specified the LyX way, only the package loading and some special settings remain in the preamble
- achemso.layout: a whitespace fix
- remove styles that cannot be written into the main text, but have to be inserted in the preamble
- add some info according to its latest documentation
Implement a more simple and elegant integration of the R package knitr. Now,
lyxknitr.R does not need to move or copy files at all.
This also fixes a bug: when /tmp was on a different file system (e.g.
encrypted home), lyxknitr.R failed to move files to /tmp because it relied on
R's 'file.rename' function, which in turn relied on the rename function in
<stdio.h>, which was failing with the EXDEV errno.
Patch from Yihui Xie.
Now that \lstlistoflistings is supported by InsetTOC, we should use that
instead of ERT. I could have updated the file format and directly used an
InsetTOC instead, but I was too lazy.
The listings inset and include inset of type listings use two english terms
that are not localized yet: "Listing" for the caption and "Listings" for the
list of listings (not supported natively by LyX yet). The existing layout
translation mechanism has been extended to translate these terms as well:
1) Support [[stuff]] context in lib/layouttranslations
2) Support BabelPreamble and LangPreamble in InsetLayout
3) Use a InsetLayout for InsetInclude of type listings
4) Define BabelPreamble and LangPreamble in the layouts for InsetInclude
and InsetListings
