Use the LaTeX internal character representation (LICR) macros
provided by lgrenc.def (since version 0.8 from 2013-05-13)
in lib/unicodesymbols. This fixes the PDF bookmarks (except for the
legacy input encoding iso-8859-7) and solves the problem of a missing
"v" character in Libertine LGR fonts (see lyx-users from 2018-01-29).
The ctest unicodesymbols/008-greek-and-coptic_iso8859-7_pdf2" now fails
(due to #9681). This is not a regression, as it is already
"unreliable" (wrong output, Latin character instead of Greek).
Drop compatibility definition of \~ as perispomeni accent
(that was required with lgrenc.def < 0.8).
As of enchant 2.x, it is required to create a Broker instance instead
of relying on a static one provided by the library.
Add autoconf and cmake (courtesy of Kornel) tests that check whether
one can indeed instantiate a Broker object, and act on the result in a
new broker() helper function.
Fixes bug #10986.
If, after the 10th iteration, the exported lyx16x file still
differs from the one in the previous iteration, the test
is marked as failing, even if still loadable.
The "bxjsarticle" class only supports export with XeLaTeX and system
fonts.
This commit uses the new exclusion functionality introduced at
10cd5dd2.
The following tests are now ignored:
export/examples/ja/knitr_dvi
export/examples/ja/knitr_pdf
export/examples/ja/knitr_pdf3
export/examples/ja/sweave_dvi
export/examples/ja/sweave_pdf
export/examples/ja/sweave_pdf3
The following tests are no longer ignored:
export/examples/ja/knitr_pdf4_systemF
export/examples/ja/sweave_pdf4_systemF
This allows us to exclude matches of certain patterns in
invertedTests, ignoredTests, unreliableTests, and suspendedTests.
To use this new functionality, prefix "!" to the pattern.
This functionality serves as a workaround in some cases to not being
able to use advanced regular expression techniques, such as
"negative lookahead", with CMake's regular expression engine.
Output of "ctest -N" is unchanged by this commit.
This functionality will be used soon (see next commits).
Patch from Kornel Benko.
- use https in URLs
- remove unused code
- use variables if possible
- LyX 2.3.x won't support Windows Vista because Qt 5.9 does not and other third-party programs will follow soon
Since they are not supposed to contain versioned strings like LYX_DIR_VER,
it is sufficient to copy them instead.
Besides, they also may be non-utf-8 coded, which would also break the conversion.
- update the file list in Makefile.am
- don't try to build it via CMake because this requires more than CMakeLists.txt. If it should nevertheless be built via CMake the .cmake files need to be rewritten from scratch
- remove unused and outdated files
- update an SVG file
- also remove Qt5XML in the installer as it appears not to be used by LyX
- update to latest MikTeX installer which resolves some problems
- add a note that pdfview is not yet ready for full Unicode support
This computation did not make sense anymore since we began to put the
contents in the Row object. The fact that it worked was a coincidence.
Instead, we set rows as changed() on creation and reset that once they
have been drawn. This will allow in the future for a finer definition
of what to redraw or not.
Also update the PAINTING_ANALYSIS document
since a few months MiKTeX's package manager required the option "--admin" when calling it with admin privileges
- also register the .lyx21 file extension for LyX 2.3
- also update the LyXRC version number
The goal of this commit is to ensure that a processUpdateFlags call
that requires no redraw will not override a previous one that did
require a redraw.
To this end, the semantics of the flag argument is now different: its
value is now OR'ed with a private update_flags_ variable. This
variable is only reset after the buffer view has actually been
redrawn.
A new Update::ForceRedraw flag has been added. It requires a full
redraw but no metrics computation. It is not used in the main code
(yet), but avoids to compute metrics repeatedly in consecutive
processUpdateFlags calls.
The process is now as follows:
- if flags is just None, return immediately, there is nothing to do.
- the Force flag is honored (full metrics computation) and replaced
with ForceDraw.
- the FitCursor flag is honored and removed from the flags.
- the SinglePar update is added if ForceDraw is not in flags and only
the current par has been modified.
The remaining flags are only then added to the BufferView update
flags, and the update strategy is computed for the next paint event.
Finally the dubious call to updateMacros in updateMetrics has been
removed for performance reasons.
This should force the python executable to use the desired encoding.
The command is moved to a wrapper script to be able to set the environment
at make-run-time.

The current spelling is not strictly wrong, but flagged as unusual or
historical by some authorities. It is also found fault with many
spell checkers. Thus we decided to move to the more standard "-ible"
form once and for all.
See #10678 for discussion
This part only covers the usage in comments and the like. More to follow.
This will all also all be backported to 2.3.x, for the sake of backwards
compatibility (cherry-picking).
The export ja/lilypond_pdf fails because ps2pdf gives an error. It
is thus still inverted, under the category 'externalissues'. As
Jürgen discovered, ps2pdf succeeds if the -dNOSAFER flag is used.
Note that Kornel is seeing strange behavior with the sweave test,
and thus the label of that test might be changed soon (e.g. to
"unreliable"). For discussion, see:

The variable CPACK_DEBIAN_PACKAGE_RELEASE has to be in the form
of "^[A-Za-z0-9.+~]+$". We will use the abbreviated commit revision for now.
Without this change cmake 3.10 emits error.
The wrapper script is placed in the binary directory of the LyX bundle.
It tries to find the real inkscape command line converter in the
Inkscape.app bundle and starts it or reports an error.
The configure.py is changed for Mac OS to check the presence of
the real inkscape binary in the Inkscape.app bundle.
Expliclyt set n:o digits in abbrev. hash in script that checks the
commit log to make script behave the same way on different platforms.
Also improve help text.
Handle name may be arbitrary string mathing '[A-Za-z0-9]*'.
This is then used by appending to the commands for the control file.
For instance select 'Alpha' as handle for the control file 'abc'
'COAlpha: abc' ==> open 'abc' for write
'CCAlpha:' ==> close 'abc'
The idea is to let a CI job regurlarly invoke this script in order to
check that there hasn't been any new commits where the author of the
commit doesn't have an @lyx.org e-mail address. If this is the case,
the CI job is expected to fail and a warning e-mail will be sent to
lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org.
Traditionally LyX behaves differently when the directive DEVEL_VERSION
is defined at compile time. This covers
* more detailed description of current position in status bar
* the help files are open in read/write mode
* more detailed debug output in the View Source panel
This patch introduces the new function devel-mode-toggle that allows
to use devel mode in stable releases, and vice versa.
The information is saved in the session file. The default is to
disable devel mode.
Remove all traces of DEVEL_VERSION in autoconf and cmake
This is not needed for recent cmake versions, but since we expect
also older cmake version be used, sort the list nevertheless.
See https://reproducible-builds.org/ for why this matters.

1.) Handle also 'LatexCommand inputminted' in lyxStatus.pm
2.) Add '-shell-escape' to the appropriate converters.
This applies only to the ctest-environment iff calling
the script 'prefTest.pl' in the build directory.
Update the listings inset to optionally use the minted package
(instead of the listings one) for typesetting code listings.
Only one of the two packages can be used in a document, but it
is possible to switch packages without issues if the used options
are the same. If a switch is made and the options differ, one needs
to manually adjust them if they were entered in the advanced options
tab, or apply again the gui settings.
Note that minted requires the -shell-escape option for the latex
backend and the installation of additional software (python pygments).
keytest.py: This gives the os some time to update the status.
All keys with modifier and all possible shortcuts are affected.
Shortcut use corrected in findadv-11-in.txt and findadv-17-in.txt
Now, before starting a test with 'TestBegin' in any *-in.txt file
we can create ne shortcuts used by this test.
Defining a shortcut:
UseShortcut "<shortcut>" "<function>"
Actually adding the new shortcuts to be used by the next lyx-session:
PrepareShortcuts
Use example is found in findadv-combined-in.txt
The UseShortcut-entries will be traslated into '\bind "<shortcut>" "<function>"'
and with the PrepareShortcuts-entry added to the active use file 'user.bind'
Function keys are sent to xvkbd as e.g. \[F15], so we should
not split a sequence like "\C\[F15]" into two text pieces.
(Do it like other keys not having a digit in their name (e.g. \[Return]) )
The controls are described in hello-world-in.txt as
Cr: not expected regex search pattern before next expected match
Cp: not expected search pattern before next expected match
See also findadv-re-04-in.txt for an example
In this test-case, searching for case sensitive and format considering
search is failing.
This test started failing after 8bf3d7bb. I did not look deeply into
why, because the corresponding de and es tests were already
inverted, and because in general we do not expect texF tests to work
well.
The controls are described in hello-world-in.txt as
CO: for control file open for write
CN: control notice
CP: simple search pattern
CR: regex search pattern
CC: close control file
The control-file will be used at the end of test by searchPatterns.pl
Suppose, we want to test a key sequence which should produce
logs in defined sequence. ATM, we use pcregrep to see, if
a pattern occurs in the log-file. This is OK, if using only single
tests with only one message to care about.
But it is not OK for combined tests.
As an example, the file 'findadv-combine-in.txt' is combining
tests findadv-re-01-in.txt, findadv-re-02-in.txt and findadv-re-03-in.txt.
This test runns here about 25 seconds, while the time for the other three
is about 144 secs.
(Most time is with starting/stopping lyx)
Often the relevant entry (e.g. /proc/xxxx/status) exists,
but is empty. This led to many tests fail, mostly at
the first tests after the start of the OS.
- since CMake 3.5 the path to the cmake.exe is no longer by default written to Windows' PATH variable. Therefore this has to be done in the script.
- Windows path can contain spaces (CMake's default installation folder does) so we must use quotes around the paths
- set the CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH variable
The culprit in keytest is the possibility to lose some keystrokes.
The idead here is that the keystokes are cached by QT until some
control character is entered forcing e.g. new dialog.
So, splitting input lines at these characters should be enough
to ensure that the next chars are not lost.
iconv fails, if a nomenclature inset contains an uncodable character
This led to failure of the indonesian UserGuide in the attic.
Fix it there and add a minimal, specific test sample instead.
1.) Don't modify the line as it happened at start of sendKeystringLocal()
2.) Split lines on each keysym (e.g. \[Return])
3.) Beatify the debug output of the sent text
This makes the wrapper working smoothly even for more complicated
input lines.
Also we do not need the window- parameter in call to xvkbd.
Still, there _is_ something fishy. At first run it can happen that
some keytest fail. But not reproducible at subsequent calls.
It feels like QT would cache some data and therefore lyx reacts
later faster.
This work is a result of collaboration with Tommaso Cucinotta.
Changes are:
1.) make it python3 compatible
2.) rewritten the lyx_status() routine
3.) routines lyx_sleeping(), lyx_zombie(), lyx_dead() now depend on lyx_status()
4.) dont send keystring "\Afn" at start as it is language dependent
5.) handling of TestEnd uses now lyx-commands to stop the lyx-session.
Use 'kill -9' only if unsuccessful
New special character to mark an optional line break
without inserting a hyphen (ZWSP). See #10585.
Corresponds to the Unicode character U+200B ZERO WIDTH SPACE
This isn't a “space”. It is an invisible character that can be used
to provide line break opportunities.
http://unicode.org/notes/tn27/
While the literal Unicode character can be used in the LyX
file, it is invisible in the GUI.
For visible feedback, the patch adds a new special character "allowbreak".
The small mark is inspired by LibereOffice.
A tooltip is added.
- from specific dependency on wish8.5, to just wish
- from checking the 2nd line of /proc/*/status, to grep-ing on sleeping (old system was failing on newer kernels)
- mode debugging and python output during tests
There a some exceptions related to the fact that BOOST_ASSERT throws
an unhandled exception, which is fait enough. This is handled by
uploading a modeling file to coverity.
The second batch of issues are related to the use of lexical_cast in
convert.cpp. We use now a wrapper around boost::lexical_cast that does
not throw but return empty strings instead. I am not sure actually of
when lexical_cast could fail.
- Mention the new buffer parameter in development/FORMAT
- Assure that lyx2lyx generates the same output obtained when saving
a converted document from within lyx
- Don't require any action when converting a document created with
lyx 2.2 in order to assure unchanged output (thanks José for the hint)
This commit fixes the regression introduced in 2.2 about the
output of en- and em-dashes. In 2.2 en- and em-dashes are output as
the \textendash and \textemdash macros when using TeX fonts, causing
changed output in old documents and also bugs (for example, #10490).
Now documents produced with older versions work again as intended,
while documents produced with 2.2 can be made to produce the exact
same output by simply checking "Don't use ligatures for en-and
em-dashes" in Document->Settings->Fonts.
When exporting documents using TeX fonts to earlier versions, in order
to avoid changed output, a zero-width space character is inserted after
each en/em-dash if dash ligatures are allowed. These characters are
removed when reloading documents with 2.3, so that they don't accumulate.
The added cmake-parameter is:
-DLYX_EXTERNAL_MYTHES=<value>
where <value> is one of
AUTO (Default) Search first on system for mythes (lib and include)
ON Use installed only (errors if not installed)
OFF Compile the provided source in 3rdparty
We don't invert unreliable tests for the same reason they are
inverted but, e.g., a nonstandard test that fails for some reason even with the
additional requirements installed or a test that shows wrong output
but also an error.
Added "export/export/latex/arabic_simple_pdf4_systemF"
and "export/doc/ar/Intro_pdf4_systemF"
to the list of tests which ignore "missing glyph" error.
Thanks to Jürgen Spitzmüller.
An update in TeX Live causes the test to pass (also for Kornel), so
now we uninvert the test.
I looked at the output file, and it seems fine to me (although it is
long, and I just checked briefly).
The new TeXLive uses font encoding TU for Unicode fonts with Xe- and LuaTeX.
The command \textquotedbl for straight quotes is no longer supported,
\textipa no longer supported with LuaTeX.
Problems with Spanish Babel and Xe/LuaTeX with 8-bit fonts lead to new errors
in some cases.
This adds support for the chapterbib package, but also adds ways to
produce this sort of multibib with biblatex and bibtopic (which are
both incompatible with chapterbib).
File format change.
This allows to somewhat simplify the text and avoid some uses of
Paragraph (in the long term, RowPainter should not have to access
these things).
At the same time do a small cleanup to RowPainter: rename
text_metrics_ to tm_, remove pm_ and width_.
File format change.
This allows for the relevant InsetCommand-based dialogs (such as
citation text before/after, Bibitem label, hyperlink name etc.)
to provide both the input of verbatim code or text that is transformed
to proper LaTeX code.
Some dialogs (Nomencl, Href) already had some methods (although they
could not be toggled), which are now centralized and streamlined.
The initial work of this patch has been done by Georg Baum (see
http://www.lyx.org/trac/attachment/ticket/2751/x.diff)
Fixes: #2751, #8227.
These are biblatex-specific multicite commands that allow for multiple
pre- and postnotes, as in:
\cites(pre)(post)[pre1][post1]{key1}[pre2][post2]{key2}...
with an optional general pre- and postnote, which applies to the whole
list (like [][] in normal cite commands) and an optional pre- and
postnotes for each item, so that pagination can actually be specified in
multi-cite references, as in:
(cf. Miller 2015, 2; furthermore Smith 2013, 23-23; Jenkins 2012, 103,
also refer to chapter 6 in this book)
See the biblatex manual, sec. 3.8.3., for details.
File format change.
New file: ignoreLatexErrorsTests
The sublabels in this list of export-testnames specify which error
messages should be ignored.
For each sublabel (for example "xxx") the lyx-command line is expanded with
"--ignore-error-message xxx"
We use the more comprehensive cochineal package if available and fall
back to the crimson package, if not.
Math support is provided by means of newtxmath

* b `british' (``inner quotation'')
* w >>swedishg>> ('inner quotation') ["g" = Guillemets]
* f <<french>> (``inner quotation'')
* i <<frenchin>> (<<inner quotation>>) ["in" = Imprimerie Nationale]
* r <<russian>> (,,inner quotation``)
Rename "french" to "swiss"
Also rename "single/double" to "secondary/primary" ("inner/outer" in
the UI) and "left/right" to "opening/closing". Note that the inset
identifier string is left as is ("s/d" and "l/r")
Using this label in invertedTests expands the testname unnecessary, so that
we get e.g. labels like:
SUSPENDED.UNRELIABLE.WRONG_OUTPUT.UNRELIABLE_export/doc/de/EmbeddedObjects_pdf4_texF
OTOH, if using label 'unreliable', we get a warning about label-names clash.
The best is to reset any previous label setting.
This encoding (modified Mac Cyrillic for Asian languages) is rarely used and not supported by Gnu iconv.
Update comments in lib/encodings.
Update ctests: Gnu iconv only supports cp858, if configured with "--enable-extra-encodings".
The missing character problem is fixed upstream.
Also fix the scaling of the \sun-symbol-index by wrapping the symbol in \text.
(wasysym's \sun is valid in text and math mode. LyX currently adds a spurious \ensuremath.)
As Enrico pointed out in http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org/msg131411.html, the loading error of testcases_speed.lyx is caused by tags from a LyX development version that were later removed but never handled in lyx2lyx.
LaTeX export still fails with
! Argument of \xargs@grab@opt has an extra }.
These tests are "unreliable" and thus their export status contains
less information than reliable tests. However, it contains some
information and could still be used to find regressions. This commit
helps keep the output of a vanilla "ctest" command clean.
See discussion here:

MiKTeX made a major package cleanup during the last 2 weeks. (Which caused a lot of troubles btw.) Many packages were removed and renamed. Now the list is complete again.
Test unicodesymbols for most supported input encodings with Kornel's addition to ctests.
Add required "forces" to unicodesymbols:
* utf8x does not support all characters supported by LyX
* several 8-bit encodings map characters to math-mode commands - force replacement in text-mode so that LyX can wrap them in \\ensuremath.
Fix a misalignment (wrong replacements) in the Cyrillic Unicode block.
Use \\mathscr for Mathematical Script characters in Mathematical Alphanumeric Characters (in line with the characters in other unicode blocks.
Rename the directory for test samples "export/latex/Unicode-characters" to "export/latex/unicodesymbols". This matches the purpose to test the lib/unicodesymbols file.
First run of Kornels patch for tests with all input encodings in lib/encodings.
Remove redundant sample files - keep only one sample and change the input encoding in the test script.
Put remaining failing test in "unreliableTests" for later sorting...
- fileformat change
- I could not update the tex2lyx test files because of bug #10440
- maybe the lyx2lyx routine could be improved but since a document can also begin with another layout than "Standard" I could not use the lyx2lyx function put_cmd_in_ert
* custom non-tex fonts with all required characters
* use 2.2 fileformat (easier backporting)
* test all export formats
Also, fix pattern for "mixing_inTitle_layouts" in unreliableTests.
force=utf8 is required for most characters provided by add-on packgages
and (almost) all mathematical characters, because these are not
set up for inputencs utf8
unicodesymbols.py failed here (python 2.7 under Linux) before the simple fix
included in this commit.
Specify non-TeX fonts that work in the source for documents that
fail with "missing characters" if compiling with "non-TeX fonts"=true.
(This does not interfere with the default output in any way.)
The new cmake 3.6 now also inserts correctly
this file into its control-file. But the syntax of the control-file
expects the description lines be indented by a space.
Also empty lines (only spaces) are not allowed.
Add an exception to the conversion of "missing character" warnings into errors.
The PGF package deliberately uses the dummy font "nullfont" to suppress output.
Therefore, warnings about missing characters in "nullfont" are really only warnings.
Also updated the comment: "Missing character" warnigns are especially widespread
in XeTeX/LuaTeX but can also happen with "classical" 8-bit TeX.
Feel free to port this to branch.
Move them to a subdir, ignore this subdir for other tests.
Dedicated test samples for LaTeX-specific problems don't give additional value if tested for loading, conversion, or other exports.
This led to errors when compiling with polyglossia (and non-TeX fonts).
A minimal (currently non-compiling) test sample is kept in autotests/export/
and inverted in suspiciousTests.
europeCV and modernCV examples can now be exported to PDF using
LuaTeX. For the specific output that was fixed, look at the diff and
see the description in suspiciousTests that was removed by this
commit. The output was checked manually and appears fine. These
tests are thus "uninverted".
Exporting those examples to DVI with LuaTeX does not exit with
error, but the output drops characters with accents. Thus, these
tests are now marked with the "wrong_output" label. I reported this
issue on the LuaTeX mailing list at [1], but since DVI export is not
given high priority, I don't expect much action.
Note that these changes reflect an updated TeX Live 2016
installation.

As of 0b1cf133 we now warn in the GUI of this issue, but there is a
discussion about whether we should change our LaTeX output and allow
for the workflow of mixing inTitle layouts. For more information,
see #10347.
The keytests were previously enabled by default if the necessary
dependencies were found. They require a GUI and mouse so can
sometimes be annoying. Further, they are not currently reliable.
They are thus now disabled by default.
is output when a branch is NOT activated. Fixes bug #7698.
At the moment, inversion is controlled through the branch settings
dialog. There is no provision for inserting inverted insets directly,
or for changing them from the context menu. Both of these could be
done, of course. The latter would need LFUN_BRANCH_TOGGLE_INVERTED.
With both Qt4 and Qt5, when using a click-to-focus policy, the first
attempt to paste a selection by middle mouse in an external application
which has no focus may fail. It is not clear why this succeeds for some
applications and fails for others, but refreshing the timestamp of the
selection request cures the issue. The cmake part is by Kornel.

MSVC does not need a special flag to specify the standard. Using --std=c++14
produces a warning, but compilation succeeds, so the old code did mistakenly
choose --std=c++14 for MSVC.
Older gcc versions (e.g. the first one which has usable std::regex: gcc 4.9)
require the --std=c++11 flag to be set. Otherwise std::regex is not made
available. Therefore we need to keep the flag in the loop.
These files were aded with windows line ends before we did set the text=auto
attribute for all files in .gitattributes, and this caused phantom changes on
linux workspaces after .gitattributes was introduced.
Now these files appear with linux line ends on linux workspaces and with
windows line ends on windows workspaces, like all source files.
The external date inset was implemented as a demonstrator for external insets
in general. It was never intended for production code. Now that we have several
external insets defined we do not need the demonstrator anymore. This fixes
bugs #4398 and #9948.
This was dead code that did never work, and most of it was boilerplate that
you can steel in 15 minutes from any existing math inset. Apart from that it
did contain a pointer to InsetXYMatrix which would create the same problems
we saw with the macros.
XeTeX with TeX fonts is only safe with ASCII input encoding (see #9740)
and we therefore force "ascii" when exporting with XeTeX and 8-bit TeX-fonts.
However, "utf8-plain" is a "power-user" option, which allows to switch off LyX's
encoding of the LaTeX file:
keep this also for "XeTeX with TeX fonts".
The user is responsible to ensure all characters can be processed and are
correctly shown in the output. The provided test sample shows the problems
with this encoding without special measures (like loading fontspec in the
user-preamble or a document class).
Boost.Signals is deprecated. This fixes bug #9943.
The only thing left to do is to rewrite (or get rid of) the boost -mt test
in config/lyxinclude.m4 not to use signals anymore.
As discussed on the list. If no C++11 compiler is found configuration stops
with an error. There are now unneeded parts of boost, the will be removed in
a second commit.
For a suffixed version (with suffix 2.3) and installation dir (/usr/local)
the new paths are:
binary -> /usr/local/bin
system-lib -> /usr/local/share/lyx2.3

manuals -> /usr/local/man/man1
locales -> /usr/local/share/locale

Tested by comparing the output of
python generate_symbols_list.py `kpsewhich fontmath.ltx`
with lib/symbols.
Also read files with universal line endings and write files using native line
endings, so the script can also be used on windows without changing the line
endings.
The new functions parBottomSpaging and parTopSapcing return below/above each paragraph.
This allows to remove the TopBottomSpace argument and makes the code a
bit clearer.
Now that Row has a pit() member, it is possible to use it instead of passing an extra pit_type parameter to a function which already has access to a Row.
Change the various paint* helpers to take a single row element as argument.
Do not update x_ in the various paint* helpers. Constify them. Update x_ in paintText and paintOnlyInsets instead.
Remove an empty call to paintForeignMark in paintInset (the call did nothing since orig_x == x_ at this point).
It is actually easier to set the 20 pixels margin in redoParagraph, since it is not necessary to take newlines in account when deciding what is the real last row of the paragraph.
Moreover this solves the following bug (present in 2.1.x too): when the document ends with a newling, the bottom margin disappears.
Update PAINTING_ANALYSIS with new tasks.
* remove optional arguments to the helpers that use a FontInfo
* add a textwidth argument to the text() methods that are used by rowpainter.
Now textwidth is only computed if a null value was passed to the
text() method. This means that in the use case of rowpainter, no
textwidth needs to be computed.
On mingw-w64, long long (64bit wide) is larger than long (32bit wide).
Therefore we need some more specializations for string, docstring,
otextstream and << overloaded ostream functions. The configuration code
is by me, the source code changes by Shankar Giri Venkita Giri (bug 10053).
Lyx files converted from 2.1 to 2.2 contain parbeak and latexpar separators that
would not appear if the lyx file was written in 2.2 from scratch. The script
removes latexpar separators and transforms parbreak separators into plain
separators. Then it displays a diff of the resulting pdf files (requires
diffpdf) for manual control. All lyx files shipped with lyx should be updated in
this way. See #10068.
example usage:
cd lib/doc
../development/tools/separator-convert.sh Math.lyx
This is what the polib version does already. If a translation is marked
fuzzy then it is not used, so if the other file contains a non-fuzzy
translation we do not throw away useful information if we overtake it.
If the -o option is given, we may overwrite existing translations with
translations from the other .po file. In this case, we have to delete or set
the fuzzy flag accoring to the updated translation.
This is the same as the parbreak separator and is represented on screen
as the old parbreak. Old parbreak separators are converted to latexpar
separators when they are used for introducing blank lines in the
latex output rather than for separating environments.
Instead, parbreak separators are now represented on screen by a
double line. In essence, latexpar and parbreak separators produce
the same output but are represented differently on screen.
The context menu does not account for latexpar separators and only
"true" separators can be turned each into the other one.
The term LongTable has been deprecated and moreover the renaming makes the interface easier to the eye.
File format updated to 507. (conversion based on jamatos patch)
Layout format updated to 60.
tex2ylx tests updated.
Document EmbeddedObjects.lyx has been updated.
In collaboration with Günter Milde:
1.) Allow char ':' be part of a ctest-label
2.) Eliminate redundant label naming and directory names
(The testnames should not repeat the directory name)
When updating to the latest TeX Live revision, these exports now
succeed.
Inspecting the differences between the "good" PDF and the "bad" PDF
(where the test failed) there are three differences, which can be
found on the printed page numbers 81 and 82 (PDF page numbers 91 and
92). The accented i in "lím" was printed incorrectly (and the
missing glyph was correctly detected). After the update the
character is printed correctly and there is no longer an error.
The package that caused the change is likely babel or babel-spanish.
You can see the log from the TeX Live update that caused the fix by
seeing the attachment to the message here:
https://www.mail-archive.com/search?l=mid&q=20160313015902.lny3g5aujh4c4aps%40scott-Za1510
It could happen that the variable was set in creating a previous test-case.
Some combinations in the controlling files (suspiciousTests, unrelibleTests, ...)
did not set this variable.
Nothing changes for already cached values.
With fresh build-dir and in 'AUTO'-mode we try to determine if the c++ compiler
is able to use this feature.
- fixed typos and updated translation
- support for Krita
- updated support for Gimp
- updated backup detection for TeXLive (generic detection always works independently)
- safeguard for a variable issue
* Increase LyX format
* New function convert_info_insets in lyx2lyx_tools.py
Use this function in the future for future updates of info insets
* Convert "inset-modify tabular" to "tabular-feature" in info insets
* Remove icon naming hack regarding "inset-modify tabular"
- build4-2010.bat: MSVC 2010 and Qt 4.8.7 (as backup)
- build5-2010.bat: MSVC 2010 and Qt 5.5.1
I tested both scripts thoroughly and the resulting LyX build is stable. Please feel free to modify them if something can be improved.
Increment LyX format to 504.
With this new parameter, the user can indicate that some other parameters that
are frequently switched must not be recorded in the file (as if they were a
setting specific to the user or transient, rather than a document setting). This
will play nicer with version control systems.
See the discussion, e.g.:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.devel/157824/focus=157993 (third
solution mentioned)
TODO:
* The interface remains to be set up. We cannot change this setting from LyX
for now.
* If save_transient_properties is false, we should read the user setting as a
per-user-per-document (session) setting (e.g. like the cursor position).
* Once the above is done, we can treat \justification the same way (but it would
be even better if \justification was moved to lyxrc).
* sort and comment remaining unsorted filter patterns in suspiciousTests
(mostly just move to TODO and state what needs to be done).
* comment the patterns for achemso and Math,
(LuTeX incompatibility fixed in TeXLive 2016-01-07).
Simplify the logic for language package selection and make it more consistent:
Use polyglossia with non-TeX fonts (system fonts/Unicode fonts) for all
export flavours (XeTeX, LuaTeX, DVI-LuaTeX), if the language package setting
is "auto" and there is no language not supported by Babel and no package
providing Babel.
This solves some Babel-related autotest cases and leads to some new failures
due to the polyglossia language nesting problem.
* missing characters in linguistics example with system fonts
* language nesting problem in fr/linguistics example
* 110f505b63 solved one failure (Basque example file)
Works with system-fonts due to font substitution in the test-script.
TODO: set system fonts that work in the lyx source(s) to allow compilation
"by hand".
testcases_speed_lyx21 added to suspiciousTests
Handling unknown body token: `\begin_manifest'at line ...
Literate_lyx16 and noweb2lyx_lyx16 added to ignoredTests
Plenty of warnings (~ 390)
New sublabels LyXBug, ERT.
Renamed sublabel TeXLimit to TeXissue.
More sorting and unification of regular expressions.
Removing double entries.
Fixes for some expressions (eu_UserGuide_pdf, examples/ja/(knitr|lilypond|sweave))
Since the stop condition is that the last two consecutive created
files are identical, we do not need to check the last file.
Also checking for load of the created files is not needed, because
exporting the previous file implicitly loads too.
Exporting to some previous lyx format:
Inside the loop
Stop at export with errors/warnings
Stop if exported file not loadable
Stop if exported file identical to previous exported file (OK case)
This is done through creating MD5SUM
We test here, if any \end_{somethig} matches \begin_{something}.
Exeptions are \end_index and \end_branch ATM, they should
match \index and \branch respectively.
Also added new testfile.
Remove patterns matching tests now ignored (CJK/Korean, latex8).
Move patterns matching documents in the attic under new sublabel.
Add more verbose comments.
Comment by Günter Milde:
Actually, *all* Spanish manuals either fail or have wrong output with
Unicode TeX engines and 8-bit fonts. The reason is known: a bug in Babel
that uses utf8 strings whenever Xe- or LuaTeX is detected.
Always-Babel now set in the example document.
Adapted the autotest categorization:
* fails for some developers (why?)
* wrong output with pdflatex/LuaTeX and DVI (missing landscape slides).
he.po in branch contains a number of translations where the translation is
identical with the original text (e.g. for encoding names) which look suspicios
to me. Therefore I did not want to merge these and leave the decision to the
translator. No information is lost, since these "translations" can easily be
recreated from the original texts by copy-paste.
Previously all labels got the depth '7' while processing 'suspiciousTestss'.
The depth is used to sort how our labels are used to build a test-label.
Say a test gets label a, b, and c, with depth 3, 8 and 2.
The constructed test-label will be "b🅰️c"
For new (to be implemented) 'reason-labels' it is more convenient to assign them higher values.
suspiciousTests: Remove Tutorial from the regex
suspendedTests: Explicit list of languages needed
ignoredTests: Language-string is separated from other strings only by '/'. '|', '_', '(' and ')'
This is useful if you know that the translation of a particular language has
not been updated at all in master, but the stable version has been worked on.
Some characters (like ") are escaped in .po files. These are handled correctly
by polib, but the self written parser did not yet take them into account.
We need to remove the #~ prefix of each line, since it is re-added after
wrapping, and because otherwise the comparison with entries from polib
does not work.
Now it is possible to specify the target directory, and the command line syntax
follows the standard rules: It uses options for optional arguments, and one
positional argument for the single required argument.
LyXMacros.cmake: Overseen the macro 'setmarkedtestlabel()' which added it automatically
if the test was to invert the test result.
ExportTests.cmake: Correct label handling
Surprisingly I could not find a tool that merges updated translations into a
.po file in a way that
a) merges only missing translations (does not overwrite existing ones)
b) produces a minimal diff so that there is a chance to manually check the result
Therefore I wrote my own. You can use it for a single language
python development/tools/mergepo.py ../lyx-2.1/po fr
or for all languages:
python development/tools/mergepo.py ../lyx-2.1/po
The python code is not the most elegant one, but it works. What is missing is
a command line switch to merge changed translations as well. This is useful
for languages that have not yet received any translation update in the
development branch, only in the stable branch: In this case we know that
translations that are not identical in both branches should be overtaken from
the stabkle one.
This works around a limitation of the test machinery, which never switches
TeX fonts on for format that need that, it only switches TeX fonts off for
formats needing it.
Thanks to Kornel we do now have the infrastructure for running dedicated
export tests. This is the first one, showing a language nesting bug which is
already in 2.1. It is inverted for now, but this will hopefully change soon.
- also remove support metafile2eps because:
- it is outdated
- unnecessary third-party program since ImageMagick can do this too
- needs unnecessarily installation time
and introduce sublabels
Sublabels section in *.Tests starts with 'Sublabel: name'
and is valid until start of a new sublabel.
'name' contains only ascii characters [a-z]+
The files will be locatet in the build-directory "Testing/Temporary" as
LastFailedAccessibleURLS.log
LastFailedInaccessibleURLS.log
LastFailedKnownInvalidURLS.log
To test all export use 'ctest -L export'. This is unchanged.
The following lists directories and assigned sub-label
lib/doc: manuals
lib/templates: templates
lib/examples: examples
development/mathmacro: mathmacros
autotests: autotests
Now
'ctest -L export' should be without errors
If there _are_ errors, the appropriate test should go to nonstandardTests
'ctest -L reverted' should be without errors
If there _are_ errors, the appropriate test should go to nonstandardTests
'ctest -L nonstandard'
Tests here may, or may not fail. Depends of installed tex extensions
All comments in revertedTests comes from Günter Milde
Non standard test is new. It should collect all tests
which may not work because of some missing non-standard
tex package or some exotic system font.
texindy requires some more Perl and unfortunately the path tho the perl.exe in Windows' PATh environment variable.
The new EnvVarUpdate.nsh contains a function to modify Windows environment variables easily.
Thanks Scott for the idea to modify the document. This seems to work, but I am
not surer whether it is safe in all cases, so better warn if this is used.
Also MacOSX ReadMe files. Note that a few lib/doc files are
also "updated" because trailing spaces are removed, but their file
formats are the same because they were recently updated at 83672113.
I did "git checkout LFUNs.lyx" because this file is generated
automatically and has a special header.
gen_lfuns.py does now produce the current file format, and and LFUNs.lyx was
re-created with the updated script.
There is one difference if you compare this version of LFUNs.lyx with the old
version updated by lyx2lyx: All occurences of LyX, TeX etc. in the lfun
descriptions are no longer output as logos. I do consider this as a feature,
since the old version did also output the TeX part of BibTeX as a logo, as well
as places where the names were part of some syntax, e.g. lyx::LyXRC::LyXRCTags.
lyx2lyx did not yet know about /systemlyxdir/ and set \origin to the path
where my git tree lives instead. This path is not usable except on my machine,
so better write something more usable instead.
This is a special command line switch of lyx2lyx, so it does not interfere
with normal usage. I did not try to deduce the systemlyxdir from lyx2lyx to
be on the safe side.
This is one part of bug 9744: If you toggle between TeX fonts and non-TeX
fonts, the settings of the other choice are no longer thrown away, but stored
and re-activated if you switch back. Most parts of the patch are purely
mechanical (duplicating some BufferParams members), the only non-mechanical
change is in the GUI logic.
The file was updated to format 14 in fc22ba16 but the format line
was missing. A missing format line is interpreted as format 0, I
believe, which could lead to incorrect conversion to later formats.
All dvi_texF and pdf5_texF testcases are nov candidates for being suspended.
After commit 279d084, now export/.*/Math_(dvi3|pdf5)_texF fails,
therefore the tests are also inverted.
This file holds regular expression to select which of the inverted
export test cases will be suspended.
These tests will not be executed with the call 'ctest -L export'.
These exports correctly fail now that we've switched to polyglossia.
Although they compiled without error with babel, the resulting PDFs
had gibberish.
I believe these tests were fixed by TeX Live updates.
Comparing the log files for a system where the tests fail with a
system where the tests pass, below are some of the differences
between the "good" and "bad" logs:
bad:
LaTeX2e <2015/01/01>
Babel <3.9l>
Package: fontspec 2015/03/14 v2.4c
Package: expl3 2015/03/01 v5547 L3 programming layer
good:
LaTeX2e <2015/01/01> patch level 2
Babel <3.9m>
Package: fontspec 2015/07/22 v2.4d
Package: expl3 2015/07/30 v5724 L3 programming layer
Many of our documents have babel-specific preamble code. By putting
this code in a \@ifpackageloaded{babel}{}{} conditional, XeTeX and
LuaTeX compilation with polyglossia now works. This fixes some
LuaTeX tests that were broken by edd37de8 and also allows us to
uninvert some XeTeX tests.
Note that in some of the files although the preambles were fixed to
allow for polyglossia, they still do not compile without errors:
es/Math.lyx
es/Customization.lyx
de/Customization.lyx
Similar fixes might be desired in other manuals but these at least
fix regressions in the tests.
PolyglossiaOpts are case-sensitive so "latin" must be changed to
"Latin". Without this change, compiling examples/sr/Braille.lyx
with LuaTeX and system fonts gives the following error:
Package Polyglossia Error: Unknown script `latin' for Serbian
language
Many of our Spanish documents use babel-specific features in the
documents, e.g. to write "sin" in Spanish ("sen"). Because babel
seems to have good support for Spanish, I am setting the "Always
babel" for the manuals.
This fixes several LuaTeX tests with non-TeX fonts. A XeTeX test is
also reverted accordingly.
We already have a CoordCache of insets dimensions. It is not necessary
to store the same information in two places.
Give a name to CoordCache tables types to improve code readability.
Remove ParagraphMetrics::singleWidth, which is not used anymore.
- there are some new packages required by LyX's supported document classes and example files
(this list is only used when LyX is installed the first time on a PC together with MiKTeX to shorten the installation time)
This is a work in progress intended to start collective work towards improving the performance of our painting process.
The intent is to make it a living document that is updated as code evolves.
- the long awaited MiKTeX installer is available, this fixes many installation errors in LyX is installed for the first time (I will provide a new installer build as soon as I find more time)
Being able to compile document with zipped .eps files was a useful feature of
the graphicxs package 20 years ago, but the LyX support is no longer relevant:
- The flag is ignored if preview is on
- If pdflatex is used then uncompressing happens during the compilation anyway
- If set, the flag prevents LyX from issuing proper error messages if
something with the image is wrong
- For hard disk capacities from 20 years ago not uncompressing is a useful
feature, but for current hard disk capacities it does not matter
- The external inset does not have it, and if we want to merge both insets
one day we would need to implement it there, which is even more difficult
than in InsetGraphics
We do not currently have any Arabic documents, but when we do, these
fonts will be used for the tests that use system fonts.
They can be installed on Debian-type systems from the
'fonts-sil-scheherazade' package.
Since lyX 2.0 we support to use the in_preamble tag. This allows to support more commands. For an unknown reason I forgot the jss.layout when I updated the other layouts once.
Fileformat change
The general problem is that Acrobat opens PDF files with write access so that PDF files cannot be modified externally by LyX/LaTeX.
The old pdfview used the programs pdfopen and pdfclose to open and close PDF files in Acrobat and it additionally closed and opened the PDF whenever it was changed (to simulate LyX's update button).
Since Acrobat DC (aka Acrobat 15) it is no longer possible to close PDF files in Acrobat. Due to changes in the Acrobat API also the pdfopen program can no longer be used.
Besides this the approach of updating the PDF whenever it changed was always a hack that often killed Acrobat. The reason is that one cannot immediately update the PDF view if the PDF is changed because depending on the size LaTeX needs up to several seconds to generate the PDF. If the PDF is opened while TeX is still creating is one get error messages from Acrobat Acrobat must be restarted - very annoying. During the years I experimented with a wait time to minimize these problems but of course it can never be solved.
The new pdfview version uses a completely different approach:
- it checks if the PDF is opened by Acrobat by reading the window name. If it is found this program windows will be closed. So Acrobat is not ended and other opened PDF files stay opened.
- to update the PDF view from within LyX one has to press the view button, not the update button. Only this way we know that TeX is ready and the PDF can be opened by Acrobat with write permissions.
The math parser could not handle multicolumn grids. This is a problem because
there is no true ERT in math (everything is parsed).
Now multicolumn cells are parsed correctly. The display is also somewhat OK,
but apart from that any multicolumn related UI is missing. Since the file
format change is now done the UI can be added at any later point. The most
important part of bug 396 is now fixed: tex2lyx does not create invalid .lyx
files anymore for formulas containing \multicolumn.
I updated the tex2lyx test cases that produce correct output. tex2lyx does
still produce invalid output for the test cases which are not updated because
of the previous format change.
The "save-as" part of the bug is fixed by extending the \textclass tag
such that, if a local layout file is used, its path relative to the
document directory is now stored together with the name. If a relative
path cannot be used, an absolute one is used but, in this case, the
document is not usable on a different platform.
The "copy" part is fixed by introducing a new \origin tag, which is
written when the file is saved. This tag stores the absolute path of
the document directory. If the document is manually copied to a
different location, the local layout file is retrivied by using
\origin (which is only updated on save).
This new tag may prove useful also for locating other files when the
document is manually moved to a different directory.
As in the original implementation the files needed for the layout
(for example, a latex class) had to be in the same directory as the
layout file, this directory has also to be added to TEXINPUTS.
The GNU libstdc++ that ships witch gcc 5 can be used with the same ABI as
older versions, or with a new ABI which is conformant to the C++11 standard.
LyX did not build if the latter was used:
https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/1267/9651267/build.log
This is now fixed by detecting the ABI version and disabling the wrong forward
declarations. At the same time, STD_STRING_USES_COW is switched off for the
C++11 ABI version, because the std::basic_string implementation is now C++11
conformant. Since the GNU libstdc++ can also used by other compilers such as
clang, we must not test for the compiler version.
The bug that caused these tests to enter into infinite loops
(and have a memory leak) has been fixed. These tests now
pass on an updated TeX Live 2014 as well as the current TeX
Live 2015 pretest.
One of the tests is also disabled for es/Math.lyx. However,
the other test passes for es/Math.lyx. To reproduce,
open fr/Math.lyx, click "Use non-TeX fonts", and choose
e.g. "FreeSans" for the three fonts. Then view as PDF (LuaTeX).
I put a note to look into why this one fails.
This is the rersult of a discussion on the list. Now all special characters
have meaningful names, and it is clear that the LyX file syntax is not LaTeX.
According to fix#9432, Scott found a new crash
1. start a new LyX document, english GUI
2. alt+m f to create a fraction
3. alt+m r to insert a root
4. undo
Recent versions of the cygwin X11 server come with a startup script
that explicitly uses '-nolisten tcp' for improved security. This means
that mentioning a host part in the DISPLAY variable precludes correct
operation. So, leave blank the host part such that only local connections
are attempted. Even if a user can override this setting in the own
~/.lyxprofile, novice users (and even experienced ones, at first) would be
probably confused by the "Error: Can't open display: localhost:0" message
and thus it is better to make this work out of the box.
Previously, LyX did replace some words with typeset logos, and there was no
way to prvent this except putting them, in ERT (bug #4752). Now we have
special insets for these words, and standard text is left alone.
Previously, consecutive dashes in .lyx files were combined to endash and emdash
in some cases, and in other cases they were output as is. This made the code
complicated, and resulted in inconsitencies ((bug #3647).
Now, a dash in a .lyx file is always a dash in the output, for all flavours.
The special handling is moved to the input side, so that you still get an
endash if you type two hyphens. If needed, this can be changed or made
customizable without the need to update the file format again. Many thanks
for the fruitful mailing list dicsussion, which contributed significantly to
the final version.
- the installer now re-synchronize MiKTeX's package database before installing or updating LaTeX-packages. This assures that new packages and renamed packages can automatically be installed when they are missing (fixes bug #9370)
- update the list of LaTeX packages that have to be installed when LyX is installed via the bundle installer for the first time on a PC
- add support for Turkish spell-checking
As discussed on the list. We don't need it anymore, either we have a modern
compiler that supports C++11, or we fall back to boost. I kept and adjusted
the regex #define, since we cannot use std regex completely yet.
The old detection did only work if CFLAGS contained -std=c++11, since ciso646
was only included for __cplusplus > 199711.
Thanks to Koernel for the cmake part.
This makes the script usable on windows and speeds it up by an order of
magnitude, since no new process needs to be forked for each layout file.
It also does not conevrt .old files again.
1.) The only file which needs this define is src/version.cpp. Our use in config.h
resulted in recompiling most of our sources.
With this change, only version.cpp needs to be recompiled.
2.) Without reconfiguring, the old commit hash was still valid. Now the
detection of commit hash is done at compile time.
This should prevent possible errors for tests running in parallel.
We now also check for created export file.
complainer/feature requester: Scott Kostyshak
If the LyX window does not appear after a certain (conservative)
time, the keytest now fails. One reason that caused the LyX window
to never show up was when DISPLAY was not set. This particular case
has been fixed in <commit1hash>. This commit is meant for the more general
scenario.
(Collaboration with Scott Kostyshak)
Before, the keytests would run infinitely if the
tests were run, e.g. through SSH without X forwarding.
To reproduce that problem, run
DISPLAY='' ctest -R hello
This commit causes the test to correctly fail in such situations.
(Collaboration with Scott Kostyshak)
The option --enable-qt5 allows configuring for Qt5. The default is Qt4.
Nothing special is done with respect to Qt4, apart from pulling in the
correct libraries. Indeed, other than the core and gui libraries, now
also the concurrent and widgets libraries are needed.
Forthcoming versions of cygwin will use a different mechanism for
obtaining passwd/group information based on /etc/nsswitch.conf.
Thus, it will not be guaranteed that the files /etc/passwd and
/etc/group even exist. The recommended way for obtaining those
info is by using the getent command, which already works in
current versions.
The configuration time suffers mostly on checking, which of the export tests
is to be reverted.
1.) There is a new configuration flag now, "LYX_ENABLE_EXOPRT_TESTS.
If not set (default) no export tests are created.
2.) If set, then the optimization halves the time needed for creation of tests.
The effect on my side:
a.) Until now the time was: ~ 26 seconds
b.) The optimized time is now: ~ 16 seconds
c.) With not enabled export tests: ~ 5 seconds
This is a follow-up of bug #8967. The implementation is self-explaining, the
only part which needs a comment is lyx2lyx: Since a 100% correct solution is
not possible, it has been decided not to switch amsmath off in the forward
conversion if no other ams command than \smash[t] and \smash[b] is used, but
to consider it a bug that older versions do not load amsmath automatically for
these commands. In the backward direction it is easy to keep the document
compilable, so just do that.
In collaboration with Scott Kostyshak:
With Qt 4 we could use Q_WS_X11, defined by FindQt4.cmake. In Qt 5,
there is no FindQt5.cmake. Instead we now define our own variable,
QT_USES_X11 by using class QX11Info available only on X11.
The main consequence of this improved support is that now the keytests
can be run (ctest -R "keytest") when LyX is compiled with Qt 5.
Before, with Qt 5 we did not know if X11 was available, which is
needed by xvkbd, so the tests were not enabled. Note, however, that
many tests fail with Qt version 5.2.1 because there was a change in
the event handling mechanism in Qt that causes xvkbd to be unable to
pass capital letters (so case sensitive greps in the tests fail). This
needs to be investigated and reported.
The algorithm used for breaking a paragraph in LaTeX export is changed
for avoiding spurious blank lines causing too much vertical space.
This change is tied to the introduction of a new inset (with two
different specializations) helping in either outputing LaTeX paragraph
breaks or separating environments in LyX. Both of the above goals were
previously achieved by the ---Separator--- layout and can now be
accomplished by the new inset in a more natural way. As an example,
after leaving an environment by hitting the Return key for two times,
a third return automatically inserts a parbreak inset, which is
equivalent to the old separator layout, i.e., it also introduces a
blank line in the output. If this blank line is not wanted, the
parbreak separator can be changed to a plain separator by a right
click of the mouse. Of course, an environment can still be separated
by the following one by using the Alt+P+Return shortcut (or the
corresponding menu key), but now the plain separator inset is used
instead of the old separator layout, such that no blank line occurs in
the LaTeX output.
Old documents are converted such that the LaTeX output remains unchanged.
As a result of this conversion, the old separator layout is replaced by
the new parbreak inset, which may also appear in places where the old
algorithm was introducing blank lines while the new one is not.
Note that not all blank lines were actually affecting the LaTeX output,
because a blank line is simply ignored by the TeX engine when it occurs
in the so called "vertical mode" (e.g., after an alignment environment).
The old ---Separator--- layout is now gone and old layout files using it
are also automatically converted.
Round trip conversions between old and new format should leave a document
unchanged. This means that the new behavior about paragraph breaking is
not "carried back" to the old format. Indeed, this would need introducing
special LaTeX commands in ERT that would accumulate in roundtrip
conversions, horribly cluttering the document. So, when converting a
modified document to old formats, the LaTeX output may slightly differ in
vertical spacing if the document is processed by an old version of LyX.
In other words, forward compatibility is guaranteed, but not backwards.
This patch improves the cmake bundling process:
- reworked bundle handling for OS X: only when installing resources are copied, otherwise
only the smallest bundle is built
- on OS X, the utility programs (tex2lyx) are now installed in the right location
- it removes some unneeded BUNDLE DESTINATION
- it provides a basic support for QT plugins inclusion
- it properly builds a disk image on OS X (only the background image is missing)
- it fixes the library paths for all executables (not only LyX)
- Use the COPYING file for cmake install license
These started failing after we implemented tests for formats
that are in the complement set to the default format (7ecbb068).
It might be worth it in the future to take a look at each individually
and see whether they are supposed to fail or if there is something LyX
can do to add support for exporting them.
As discussed with Vincent I added 3 new features:
* LyX can now also be installed over an existing installation of the same LyX version if the users really wants this.
(A message box appears recommending not to do so for test releases and when there are problems with an existing installation of the same release.)
* LyX can now also be installed if the uninstaller executable of a former LyX was accidentally deleted.
(That this case was not handled was more a bug. Thanks Vicent for the pointer.)
* If a user set MiKTeX's automatic package installation to "No" the installer will.
(As discussed with Vincent, if a user has disabled this MiKTeX feature he most probably know the consequences. So respect his decision.)
respect that and not re-enable it.
I would be happy if anybody can spend a translation of the changed installer message.
- known problem: if LyX 2.0.x is installed and you install 2.1rc1, the .lyx file associations will not be updated but if LyX 2.1 is installed on a new PC the file associations work (work is in progress)
Define new policy of what export formats to check.
Depending on default_output_format
default or unset xhtml, dvi*, pdf*
xhtml xhtml
any of pfd variants xhtml, pdf*
any of dvi variants xhtml, dvi*
each other (like eps3) as specified
- it turned out that the hack to install a stripped-down Perl directly to MiKTEX is not only error-prone, requires admin permission but that it is also not safe because MiKTeX changes the folder structure from time to time. With the new solution Perl is installed directly for LyX like we do for ImageMagick, Python etc.
- for pdfcrop support there is a bug in pdfcriop that the requirement is hardcoded to Ghostscript 32bit - I contacted the pdfcrop author to fix this
This test was broken after wrap-around search was implemented. From
what I understand, the point of the test is that search should _not_
match in this case because "ignore format" is checked by default.
Thus, a new way of testing that there was no match is to check whether
the wrap around message shows up, because the cursor is initially at
the beginning so that would mean that the entire buffer was checked.
I confirmed that the test now works by checking that it passes and
checking that it fails if "ignore format" is unchecked. Although this
test is still fragile, it is fragile in a conservative way (i.e. it
will give false failures rather than false passes). It will fail if
the Italian translation changes, if "ignore format" is unchecked by
default, or if the wrap-around mechanism changes (e.g. does not ask if
the cursor started at the beginning of the buffer).
The tqrget now works properly when out of source directory qnd uses the $(PYTHON) variable. Also, the use of the error() function has been fixed in the gen_lfun.py script.
This target will update the gmo files if and only if the associated
po-file is modified. To determine whether a file is modified, 'git
status --porcelain' is used.
This follows up on commit 06782542.
This patch changes the user agent and results in the openoffice.org
tests correctly passing. Before, they would give the following error:
Failed, caught error: Status read failed: Connection reset by peer
All the other tests work as before.
Kornel and I are not sure why this change works.
If a perl-submodule exits with 'die()', the process would stop
and the following urls would not be tested.
